Booking CRT online, but requiring full payment even though on DDP! HELP!

I am trying to book online and it is requiring full payment for CRT even though we have the DDP...what can I do?

HELP!
 
Many have reported them as charging even if on DDP. Call at 7am ASAP. Had same problem today, checked and they will CHARGE.

It charged my credit card but at least I got the reservation. Im on the DDP they said they would refund it at the time of the breakfast. So no worries just glad I got it.
 

You have to retrieve your reservation (there's a link at the top of the page) before you enter any dates for CRT, HDDR, or any others that require a CC for a hold. If you find your dates/times, and then retrieve it won't do it. You'll have to get completely out & remove that ADR from your cart first. It happened to me when I booked HDDR. Once I removed the ADR, then retrieved my reservation (regular resort reservation), it showed a $0.00 charge instead of the full amount. :goodvibes

This doesn't always work. My reservation was retrieved & it was still going to charge me. I called & booked by phone & the CM said it was showing HER I had the DDP, but apparently this happens a lot that the computer doesn't recognize it, so it charges you. I kept the reservation in my cart & just kept playing around on the site (adding allergy info, etc) to keep it alive while I waited. Once I knew I had the reservation booked by phone, I took it out of my cart & checked out.

My other advice for people is skip calling at 7 & wait until 8. You'll actually talk to a human at about the same time! I waited 45 min + at 7 am and TWO MINUTES at 8 am. Ridiculous!

Yeah but usually by 8am its full. I called at 7am. Started at 6:58am. Was on hold for less than a minute. So your mileage may vary.
 
My friend and I took our girls last Dec and we were both on the DDP. My friend had booked the ADR under her name for the 5 of us and was charged at the time of the reservation. She received a refund on the day we were there (in the form of a gift card) when we paid with the dining plan.
 
If the online system doesn't recognize that you are on the dining plan, it will charge in full. Sometimes, the system won't recognize the plan even with the resort reservation entered. Then, you have two choices - you can book it right then, pay for it, and get a refund when you arrive, or you can wait until 7 and call WDW-DINE so you won't be charged.

I had the same experience/good fortune. I was fully expecting the online system to charge my card, but doing it the way you described, I was amazed to find that the system did not charge my card. I am sure there are some glitches in the system, and I am sure there are times that the system does not recognize that a party is on the DDP. I was fortunate to be one of the ones that the system recognized, and my card did not get charged. :yay:
