Back in the days of the 90 day window, breakfast at CRT was *really* tough to get. The stories about being on the line at 6:59:59 and interrupting the nice CM as soon as they answered were true. Since then, three things have happened -
1 - The window opened to 180 days. There are far fewer vacationers who have their trip scheduled 5-6 months out than there are who have plans at three months
2 - The price went up significantly. Disney recognized that the demand for the meal cried out for a higher price
3 - They added characters to lunch, which took a little pressure off the breakfast
Combine these three with the economic climate, and chances are good that other than high-demand days (Christmas week, July 4, . . . . ) tables will be available for groups of four and six for the first few days, if not weeks after the window opens. Of course, it doesn't hurt to call the morning of the first day if you already know your plans. (But I wouldn't stress out about being on the line right when the lines open, especially if you live on the West Coast like I do.)
I'm not sure about tables for groups larger than six, but I know there are only four tables for two in the whole place. I have sat at all of them, and three of the four have great views by the window.
I'm one of the odd-balls, in that I like going to CRT because I really like the food. I share a few pleasantries with the princesses, always take a photo with Belle, and then go back to eating.
I used to eat at CRT every trip. Now that the price has gone up, I haven't gone in about three years. It's probably time to go back - I miss the French Toast.
