Booking Christmas at 7 month window

What are the chance of getting availability at the 7 month window for the week after Christmas (28th)? We own at Hilton Head otherwise I would just book our home resort. We are not fussy on the resort. And if it is booked up, how successful do you think a waitlist for that time frame would be?

I'm certainly not an expert on Christmas week, but we did book 3 nights at OKW for New Year's at 2 months out. I was not picky about the resort, and only requested a studio or 1BR. Our experience is definitely not the norm, and the CM was really surprised to be able to tell me that there was availability.

I think that you can find "something" at 7 months out as long as you are flexible. Good luck!

If you will take any resort and call day by day for the reservation as soon as MS opens for the day, you should be able to get something.

One of my daughters has been successful getting NYE twice on very short notice (nowhere near 7 months). Both times they were at SSR...which is actually a great place to be for NYE.

The last time she had to waitlist for one night (NYE itself), but she got it. However, her family was only going up for 2-3 days -- if you want to stay longer, that would be more difficult I guess.

We got AKV for Dec. 20-26 right about a week after it opened up for non-owners.

My waitlist for 6 nights at OKW came through 30 days prior to our arrival date (12-30-07) I got on the waitlist about a week after the 7 month window opened up. When I called around 7 months there was nothing available for all my nights -but they had a few nights here and there at a few of the resorts- I chose to waitlist for all my nights together. I had to have a 2bdrm though and I only wanted OKW- so I had a pretty specific request.
