Booking character dining

we're staying at pop century & are looking to book character breakfasts at the crystal palace & ohanas. do you need to be on a disney dining plan to book these or can anyone staying in the resort book them? and do you have to pay up front?

Anyone can make ADR's. You do not have to be staying at Disney and you do not have to be on a dining plan. Just figure out when you want to eat there and call 407-WDW-DINE.

You can book 180 days in advance of the first day of your trip which I would definitely do for the character meals. You won't be charged until the day that you have the meal and they will be more than happy to take your money as opposed to a DDP credit.
