We are heading to Disney in a month. YAY:cool1: I plan to book bounce back for a February trip. Can I book two rooms and still get the free dining for both? We have friends that want to join us in the next round. Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but...

Yes, you can get two rooms usually with a BB offer and have the promo applied to both--if you are the one booking and paying for both (your friend could pay you back). I do not think that the free dining BB offer is usually for the February time frame. It's usually offered for the current August-Sept FD promo for the same time frame the next year.

I hope I'm wrong and that you can get it, though! pixiedust:

What is the benefit of the bounce-back offer if you can only use it during a time when free dining if available to the general public?:confused3

Sorry to say, but based on previous years when you go in a month you probably will not get any BB dates for February. :guilty:

Depending on when you go in August, you will probably get:

1) either the current BB with room discounts that go through this December (2010) that will probably run until FD starts

2) or if it's after Free Dining starts it will probably be to be able to book a Free Dining package a year ahead for next years FD dates - and that will probably be for dates in August-Sept/Oct 2011 (no February).

To get February 2011 dates in a BB you would probably have to stay in a WDW resort after Free Dining ends and when a new room discount BB begins again. Last year it was around Oct 24 before the BBs with dates for the next year began, and that room discount BB did not include FD - only the FD BB that ran in Aug-Oct had FD (but no room discount).

Gee, lots of probably's huh? :goodvibes And this is all based on previous years, so it could be way different this year.

As far as booking 2 rooms, you cannot make a BB res for someone who is not presently staying at a WDW resort when booking (they do check). To have 2 rooms some DISers have DH make one res in his name, DW the other.

In case you don't find a BB offer in your room, be sure and call extension 8844 from your resort room before check out to book a BB.

Booking FD so early you have first choice in resort availability, plus knowing you already have your FD res in place (with $200 down and don't have to pay until 45 days prior) while everyone else is dying with speculation of if they will even offer it or not = eases a lot of people's FD anxiety.

Also last year the DISers who booked the FD BB reported they got the Basic DDP in Value resorts instead of the QSDP, so that was a plus too.

:surfweb:

Yep, the OP addressed the *why* when it's also offered to the general public:

1) the BBers get first dibs on the packages
2) it's never a 100% that the FD will be offered to the general public

So that's why, basically. It was started during this time period b/c this is a lull in attendance and Disney wanted to attract families. This is when most kids go back to school (including locals and AP holders who are school age) so it was a way to draw more people to the parks: a discount, if you will.

We did do the BB from last year and so we got the regular DP as opposed to the QS DP.

Hope that helps.
:thumbsup2

I booked BB and then free dining came out for the dates we are traveling. Did the math and the BB rate was better than FD. There are only 2 of us traveling.

A bounce back is simply an offer for a future stay that you are allowed to book when you are onsite.

However, just like any other Disney promotion, the promotion has dates and guidelines for following.

The past few years, the bounceback offer given during free dining was for free dining the following year, during the same time frame.

The benefit to me was knowing I had my ressie booked and I didn't have to wait & hope for FD to be announced. Also, as OP stated I get Regular DP at a value, not QSDP for booking early. :goodvibes

So if I have FD for Nov. 12th-20th this year....can I bounce back for FD for the same time frame next year??? Thanks

Probably not. The free dining bounceback is usually only offered during the mid August-early October free dining period. November usually has some kind of room discount bounceback I believe.

I have experienced everything the PPs have stated.

We were there last August on a room discount promo, NOT free dining. The only bounceback available was for free dining this year. I even called and asked and was told that was the ONLY offer available.

In June, I booked a bounceback for December, essentially modifying my current reservation, switching resorts and getting an extra 5% off.

I work in printing, and usually can decipher codes on printed materials. That offer flyer ended in 102009, which means it went into the rooms in October 2009. So I expect the same thing to happen, hopefully this year and will book a June 2011 bounceback.

My philosophy now is - ALWAYS book a bounceback and cancel it later if you don't want it.

Well those offers to the public arent guaranteed, now for the last 5 yrs they have been doing them but there has been talk of WDW stopping so many discounts.

The offers have changed alot over the yrs too

2005 FD for DDP gave appetizer, entree, dessert, drink, pp tip included

Now appetizer is not on the regular plans and neither is tip

Use to be if you booked FD you got regular now it goes by resort Value resort gets QS and moderate and deluxe get regular but when we booked bb we got regular DDP even tho we were staying at a value(2009) b/c we booked it before that public offer was made

Basically it guarantees you FD during the late Aug-early Oct and then if they extend to Dec like they have yet again this yr you can push your dates towards the end of the yr..

Im hoping for 40% off room only bb b/c thats what we used this yr

Thanks for all the input........I become a bit OCD when it comes to Disney planning and like to consider all the possibilities. Sounds like there will be some type of BB available when we go in Nov and we should book no matter what.

OP, bounceback offers change all of the time. Normally they are for a percentage off a room for your trip in the future. There are generally only specific dates and there are blackouts. Normally they are for 20%off values, 30% off moderates and delux and 40% off villas. Often during the free dining timeframe (Aug/Sep/Oct) they will offer a bounceback for free dining on similar dates (Aug/Sep normally). There has never been a FD bounceback for Jan/Feb or any of the months of the first half of the year. If you are a party of 2, you can book 2 rooms, as long as the travel dates are the same for both rooms. There is a $200 deposit per room required when booking.

Last year's BB for those statying around October, was for August 14th to Oct 2nd of this year. The offer was for FD, including for value resorts.

That offer was better than when they opened FD for the general public this year, as values only got QSD instead of regular.

Is the end date of the BB promotion the last date to check in, or the date by which you have to be checked out?

Normally Bounceback dates are anywhere from around the 14th of Aug until Apprx Sept 30th ot Oct 2nd. Free Dining was extended until December but the bb in august /september will most likely be august thru early oct or the end of sept.

You are definitely right weve been doing bb the past 4 yrs and thats how its been so unless they changed it this yr the odds are against February. Sorry:sad2: And yes you can book two rooms but you would have to make a deposit for each room so if you booked 2 rooms you would need a $400 deposit $200 per room. If your doing this for a friend I believe all BB"s have to be in the name of the guest staying while booking bb so your friends room would be in your name.

Exactly that you are gauranteed Free Dining . Like a previous poster stated those of us that booked free dining recieved the reg free dining when free dining was offered it was only counter(quick) service free dining
and if you change your mind your deposit is full refundable as long as you do not book the ins they offer if you book that they will charge you for the insurance .

Most definitely always book if your not sure that way you lock in the promo! You can cancel anytime fully refundable before your 45 day marfk when you have a package deal. Which all packages at that point must be paid in full . As long as you do not purchase the travel insurance any money paid is fully refundable if you purchase the travel ins the amount you paid minus the cost of ins will be reimbursed. So it's a win win situation if you cant go you cancel and you get your $$ back.:goodvibes

Is the end date of the BB promotion the last date to check in, or the date by which you have to be checked out?

It has been the past 3-4 yrs that as long as you are booked and check in by the last day of the promo that you will recieve the promo your entire trip I believe not exceeding 14 days . I hope this helps you;)

Couple of questions for clarity

1- Is the bounce back offer given based upon whatever current promotion the room was booked under? (For example you book room only discount=bounce back will be room only; book free dining=bounce back will be free dining)

2- Do I have to give them the exact dates of travel & resort choice when I book the bounce back? Will the offer still be honored if I need to change the dates/length of stay or resort?

3- If I think I will need more than one room, I have to book them all right then? I can't just call later to add rooms under the bounce back offer? What happens if I need to drop a room?

4- Can I book any room type, incl. suites & villas with the bounce back or is it just limited to standard rooms?

5- If I have MYW tiks and book the bounce back, should I upgrade my tiks to APs while there since I am essentially planning my return? Can I upgrade my MYW tik to AP at any time during my stay?

thanks

No the Bounce back offer only sometimes differs depending on whether you book a value or mod or deluxe. Other than that all going during the offered bounce back are offered the same deal :goodvibes
2- Do I have to give them the exact dates of travel & resort choice when I book the bounce back? Will the offer still be honored if I need to change the dates/length of stay or resort?
Yes, But if you keep the bounceback number that is on the flyer you can call and change your dates or resort at any time but you have to call the bounceback number. If not they could screw up your entire package deal if the code is expired.
3- If I think I will need more than one room, I have to book them all right then? I can't just call later to add rooms under the bounce back offer? What happens if I need to drop a room?
Yes, All rooms must be booked during your stay hence being called a bounceback offer. There have been instances where a person wasnt aware of the offer and got home and called the bb number and explained and they were aloud to book but other than that all rooms should be booked during your stay to gaurantee your offer;) You can cancel anytime upto 45 days in advance and you will be fully refunded as long as you did not purchase the travel insurance if you did that then will be deducted from you deposit and any other money paid and you will be refunded it's better to book and cancel then not book and hope it's offered and the same deal is offered when the offer comes out as those of us that booked bounceback last yr were offered the reg free dining but when the code was releases it was Quick service free dining unless you recieved a special email with a pin for Reg Free Dining.
4- Can I book any room type, incl. suites & villas with the bounce back or is it just limited to standard rooms?
Yes, You can book any room category being value, moderate deluxe. I'm not positive on the villas but I want to say no sometimes ppl booked during free dining we upgraded for free to villas but i do not believe you could book free dining originally in a villa but once again I'm not positive on that one. You could always ask when calling because family suites were not always included and have been the last few years at ASMU.
5- If I have MYW tiks and book the bounce back, should I upgrade my tiks to APs while there since I am essentially planning my return? Can I upgrade my MYW tik to AP at any time during my stay?
I'm not sure of the correct answer here either but I believe the answer is yes! I also know that you can do what they call seperating you tickets from the package once you arrive and use them as single days as those who do use those as credit towards their AP's not positive on how that works either but im sure if you search these boards you will find your answer:)
thanks
