So what's everyone's speculation on how long Aulani will be available to book at the 7 month window. People seem to be getting what they want now but as more contracts are sold I know this will become more difficult. We would prefer to go in 2014 but can make 2013 work if 2014 will be impossible.

We want to go in June of 2013 and get an OV Gv. There are only 18 of them so I'll really need the pixie dust!

From what I have read here, many people were NOT able to get any rooms, nevermind the size/view they wanted for ressies this summer...I know mid-late June filled up on the first day of the 7 month window for lots of dates.

Key here is how quickly DVC declares more inventory for bookings. They release rooms based on sales...so when sales pick up, more inventory is declared and more rooms become available for booking.

Good Luck.

I am wondering the same thing. I would love to go in June of 2013, but not sure we can get it at 7 months.

We have “banked” points which are useable until the end of January 2013. Our current plans are to attempt to book a January 2013 trip (during the winter rainy months) to Hawai’i. Our back-up plan is to book at the Beach Club for the same time at the eleven month window therefore if we don’t get Hawai’i we will have a back-up for our banked points. We hope that January is a “off” month for those wishing to go.

we booked at the 7 month mark for a 2 BR and 1 deluxe studio - we had no problem with the 2BR, but the CM I was dealing with said he had to work fast for the studio. we were successful, both with OV. My suggestion would be call right at 9:00 or in the case of on-line as soon as they allow you to book and you should be ok. The CM siad from 9:00 to 9:15 every morning its crazy. Good luck!

For trips this coming August at the 7 month window, there was VERY limited availability and you had to be very quick. Many sold out nights. Hopefully with more of the resort opening next year there will be more availability. I think it is going to be a hot spot! Good Luck!

I think a June reservation may always be harder to get, no matter what the year. I think mid to late June, coinciding with the week "school's out" is a popular time for families of school-age children to book. Knowing this, we purposely picked a week in July that worked for my teen and tween schedules (althletics, summer theater, etc.) and had no problem getting a 2BR. I got my second choice on view (island gardens) but was really grateful I got my dates and size.

I think August dates may be even easier to get as most colleges and schools in the South return well before Labor Day.

But, eventually, I agree that Aulani may be a very high demand booking. Although the resort will be big, once it is sold out to Aulani owners, I think ressies will be difficult for anyone that doesn't own.

I was able to book 2 studios for June of this year. But I had to call exactly at 9am at the opening of the 7 month window. I was lucky to get what I could. OP is correct the studios go quickly. CM told me that if you don't call within the first 20 minutes they will be gone.

I was able to get a Mountain view as all the standards were sold out. Did not check on the ocean views or pool views.

I'm not sure if it's aples to apples, but BLT is almost sold out and with the exception of a few room types and views, I haven't had problems booking at least something there 7 months and even 5 months out. It's probably a different kettle of fish though. I don't know. :confused3 Just looking for that silver linig of hope for the OP. And me. ;):thumbsup2

I called right at the 7 month mark in the VERY early morning (I am pacific time) and I asked for a 1 BR ANY view and could not get 7 nights in a row. The ONLY choice I had for 7 nights was a Pool View Studio. That was all they had left. I felt grateful to get a definite room for me entire one week stay. Luckily, we are a family of four and can fit in a studio. I was a but bummed at first but now I figure that this will work fine for us.

Good luck!

We are also hoping for an early June 2013 week trip to Aulani and I have the same concerns. I'm not exactly sure when the additional phases open in Aulani (thus additional capacity). We are hopeful that we will get in when we want, especially because we have additional west coast stops (Phoenix and LA - Disneyland) figured in our tentative trip. Keeping our fingers crossed!

We booked for early June exactly at 7 months, exactly at 9 am and I got what we wanted 1 Bdrom Pool View. I didn't ask what else was available or how quickly rooms were filling up. Although I will say I have read numerous reports after our reservation where people were not able to get what they wanted at the 7 month mark.

Good Luck to all who are going to try!!:goodvibes

I'm an Aulani owner. I was surprised at how full Aulani is this summer. I was looking at availability over Christmas and New Years and there's almost no availability for Dec. 31 NOW.

I had booked myself a 2 bedroom during the 2nd week of March this year and then had to cancel. The CM said I made someone on the waitlist very happy. :goodvibes I then found out that I could go after all. Right at the 30 day mark, an oceanview studio opened up for 10 days in a row.

So, if you have problems, get yourself on the waitlist and check after the 30 day mark.

The 3 bedrooms seem to have the least demand from what I've seen.

As of January 19th of this year you can now check availability and book rooms with points online. You can check periodically to see what types of rooms are available. I booked a reservation at exactly 7 months at Aulani by phone for a one bedroom and all standard view rooms were gone so we booked 6 nights in a 1 bedroom villa island garden view. We then decided about 2 weeks ago to book the remainder of our trip at Aulani and were able to book a studio. After checking availability online I was able to see the various rooms available which made making the reservation much easier. If you are willing to switch rooms like we did I was able to book 2 nights in a standard view room and then 2 nights in an island garden view. I am so glad we were able to book our entire stay at Aulani. Still quite a bit of availability for May even now, you just might need to be flexible.
