Booking at Home Resort

Hi Guys,

We are about to book our 1st stay at our Home Resort SSR and we can't wait.
Please could someone tell me what date I can book up. We are hoping to book from 9th Nov to Nov 18th (10 nights) 2006.
Does everyone ring and book or use the website?

Hi Lisa,

First of all - congratulations and welcome home neighbour! I'm sure you will love SSR as much as we do.

You can't book your stay on the web yet, so you will need to phone Member Servies to do this. They open at 9am local time, which works out as 2pm over here. You will need your membership number as well as the details of where and when you would like to stay.

You can book your stay eleven months in advance, and there are two ways to go about this. The first way is to call every day and book one day at a time. People tend to do this if they are looking to stay during very busy times, like over Christmas for example. If you feel that's not necessary (and most of the time it's really not) then you can call eleven months ahead of your checkout date and book the whole stay at once. In your case this mean you could either start calling on 12 December if you wanted to book day by day, or call on 19 December and book the whole stay at once. Hope that makes sense!

Oh, nearly forgot - there is a great tool available for download called Caskbill's DVC Planner (http://web.nalu.net/~wneth/dvcplanner.htm). This will help you with booking windows, banking dates and more. Definitely worth a look!

I am absolutely sure that you will not have a problem booking SSR at 11 months, even if you wait until your date of departure

I have thought about using the email link off the Members Website (I guess that might be what you mean by booking online) and I think I would do that if I was not booking at a popular DVC time.

Just to clarify - you can book eleven months from the date you check-out, not check-in

Yes we are very excited about making our first DVC reservation at our home resort.

LOL - not to be recommended, but I'm sure you're almost right Karen

Lisa, you asked what people did to book, and I've done the lot: used the booking form on the DVC website, emailed a request, and telephoned. The beauty of the telephone, apart from its being free is that it's instant and you can check your points balance.

I plan to be at OKW for part of the time you will be at SSR next November, but don't intend to book for a while yet. Enjoy your first call to MS
