Booking at 11-month window

I have a couple questions that I hope can be answered tonight.

I plan on booking a standard view BWV studio for a guest staying the 2nd week in Dec 2014. I plan on booking this day to day to ensure getting a std view studio for all nights.

1. If I do this online, does that lock in the reservation or does it go into a queue for MS to book?
   
2. Can the reservation be modified online everyday to add that extra day?
   
3. What time (PST) will the window open for booking? 12 midnight EST or 7AM EST or ???
   
4. Should I just wait and call in to MS in the morning and everyday after?

I take it you own at BWV. You just book when you are 11 months out from check IN day, not check out day. So you could book all seven nights (if that is what they want). But if you are trying to walk the reservation, you book the first seven nights online when online booking opens. Then the next day, you call MS when that opens and drop the first night and add the last night. Do that every day until you get all the nights you need. When you book online, it is booked just like you booked it with MS.

Online booking opens at 8AM ET (5AM PT) and MS opens for call in booking at 9AM ET (6AM PT).

You can reserve 11 months from date of arrival and book up to 7 nights at that time. The 11 month window opens for a reservation online at exactly 8 a.m. eastern, 5 pacific, on your date that is 11 months out, which is one hour before the phones open at MS. If you reserve on-line, first you choose dates, resort and room size and then see if it is available and if so you then click reserve and go into the start of several pages where you insert all the info needed including points to use and guest identities, during which time your reservation is locked in for 20 minutes, When done, you get a page that confirms everything and gives you a chance to reverse the entire transaction if you really don't want it. Once you are done, the reservation is permanently locked in. You don't wait for something to go to MS to do the reservation (that is what it was in the old days when you could only email MS with your requested reservation).

Thus, you don't reserve one day at time. Moreover you couldn't do that on-line for the same reservation becuas once a reservation is made online it can be modified only by calling MS. You can cancle it entirely online but you cannot modify it any way such as add a night.

You mention second week of Dec and I don't know your start date but be aware the first and second weeks of Dec are the first and third highest DVC demand weeks of the year. For BWV standard studios and 2BRs what that means is the following: (a) since Jan 1 when members could start reserving Dec 1 to 8, the first day of the reservation has been filling quickly. For example, on Jan 1, the standard studios at BWV filled by 8:05 eastern in the morning for Dec 1, On Jan 2, Dec 2 filled by 8:03 eastern. That pattern has thus far continued through Jan 5 for through Dec 5. it will likely continue for the next several days. In other words if you are hoping to get BWV standard view at exactly 11 months out from date of arrival you better be set to make that reservation online at exactly 5 a.m. pacific on the date that is 11 months from date of arrival.

Thanks to you both for the great information. Although I've owned at BWV for many years, I've never had to book right at the 11 month mark, so this is new to me.

I was able to log in this morning and make the reservation right at 5am PT.

I didn't have to "walk" it (which is also new to me), so everything worked out great.
