Booking and Canceling Question

Hi. I have a September UY for SSR.
If I book a resort at 7 months for December using my 2015 points and then end up canceling a few nights, where do my canceled points go?

If you book a December 2015 trip it's in your 2015 UY. Depending on what points you use will determine what happens along with when you cancel. If you cancel more than 31 days out, points are returned to your account with the same status. So, banked 2014 points would still be banked, 2015 UY points would still be current and would be eligible or banking, and any borrowed 2016 points would still be borrowed and locked into your 2015 UY

For a December 2014 trip, that is in your 2014 UY, so those borrowed 2015 points must remain borrowed and must be used for a trip before Sept 1, 2015.

For a Dec 2015 trip, that would be within your 2015 UY. Those 2015 points would need to be used before Sept 2015 or they could be banked into 2016 before June 2016.

I should have been clearer, I am talking about December 2014.

So my points will be borrowed so will need to use before September 2015. I appreciate your help.

Only thing to remember is 31 days. inside of 31 days points are put in a holding account. Before 31 days your points can be cancelled and rebooked as much as you need or want.

And the rules for banked and borrowed points never change. A point can be banked or borrowed only 1 time. A Point can never go back to its original year once banked or borrowed.
