Booking an infant

Like everyone else, we've been anxiously awaiting the release of summer 2017 itineraries. We'd obviously like to book asap to get the lowest price.

When we book, do we need to include the names of everyone, or can we just book an infant with no name attached to the reservation yet? I JUST found out I'm pregnant. (Baby would be 7 or 8 months old at time of cruise.) But we don't yet know the gender or exact birth date, let alone name.

If we have to wait to add on the baby, would adding on change the fares for the others in the same state room? I'm worried about increasing the fares, and about not having space on the cruise (I know it's dependent upon life boat space).

We had similar circumstances. We guessed sex (correctly) and put down infant as first name. Once you know for sure phone up DCL and correct the details

I was in the same situation on my first Disney Cruise. They booked DS as "TBD" (To Be Determined) and we gave them his name when he arrived.

Don't wait to add the baby until later because the ship/lifeboat station/etc limits can be impacted by adding another passenger. Congrats! How wonderful!

Plus new passengers pay the prevailing rate, not the rate on the original booking.

Only on the longer (Hawaii, PC, TA) cruises. Here's the statement from the cruise contract:
The minimum age to sail aboard Disney Cruise Line ships is 6 months of age on most itineraries, and the minimum age for Transatlantic, Hawaii, and Panama Canal itineraries is 1 year of age.

Ah, I had looked into the Panama Canal cruise with an 11 month old and it wouldn't let me book it

We booked on opening day 2014 and then my daughter and DIL found out they were pregnant. They called DCL and added the future babies as TBD and paid a deposit for the babies. When the babies were born (June and August) we called DCL and added their names and birthdates. Cruise is now coming up in August and our one granddaughter will be having her 1 year birthday onboard..can't wait!!! Oh, and in case anyone wants to know how much they charge for an infant it is was $617 for each infant. Boy I miss the days when kids under 3 only paid port taxes!!!
