Hi! Considering booking a 3 night in September and was curious about the advantages of booking your airfare through DCL? I have heard things like they will hold the boat if your flight is delayed and that ground transportation (magical express) is included? Also, will they book southwest & jet blue? Would love to hear from folks who have done this...Thanks so much !

if booking your airfare when booking the cruise check what the airfare would cost you if you did it on our own. we thought about just doing it thru disney and it was running $400 more a couple with a horrible selection of departure times instead of just doing it through the airline's direct website.

You really have no say in what flights when you book DCL air. They put you on a flight and it may be a connecting flight and no direct, you may not get to sit together, it may not fit your schedule and you won't find out your air plans until about a month or two before your flight. We did DCL air once and have not done it again. They use certain carriers. Any requests like certain airlines, certain flights, etc. are considred "custom air" and costs even more.

We find it much easier to book our own air, on our own terms, at the times we want and it is usually much less expensive.

DCL transfers (not magical express) is included in DCL air but if you separate the cost out it is $35 pp each way which you can book on your own without doing DCL air.

On a recent cruise from Venice on the magic Disney air ran Abput 1000 more per person. Also highly suggest coming in day before. Way too many risks with day of departures.
