After our last trip we are loews platinum members. I was thinking of buying a AAA membership since I would qualify for the free suite upgrade ( if avalible at time of booking ) at a discounted rate. If I book a club level room now and I get the king suite upgrade, will I be able to change the rates if/ when they become avalible and keep my current reservation with the king suite?

Anyone?? I would call Loews hotels, but for some reason I kinda doubt they would tell me how to "work" their system :P

I'm pretty sure I can answer you question. I'm just a little confused by how you worded it. You can book a club room now. Then book another ressie with the AAA rate and get the king suite upgrade. Then just cancel the ressie for the club room. Was that your question?

when i made my ressie saturday for the on site hotel, i was told the upgrade would have to be put in at that time.
i have the loews card and can get the upgrade free but the employee told me it had to be requested at the time the original ressie was being made.

all i can tell you is what i was informed when i inquired about it

Thanks you guys! I am wanting to book a club room at the HRH and request the club king as my upgrade. Sorry if i worded my original question funny. I plan on using the AAA rate. I am pretty sure that I would need to keep my original reservation, and just call loews and request that the new rate be applied. Does that make a little more sense??

Thanks for your replies :D

disneyfreak, be sure to request the upgrade when you are making your ressie.
i looked at aaa and mc specials.

with mc if you book 4 nights on site, you get a 5th night free valid up to end of this year. you can get an upgrade also but only at time of booking your room.

OK, I get what you mean now. You can book club now and then apply the lower AAA rate anytime you want. Loews Reservations will not upgrade you to one of the two king suites on the club floor if you book a club room. That would be something that the hotel would have to do. If you book the club room and contact the hotel they may be able to do that for you if one is available. Since there are only two king suites on the club floor, the chances are pretty slim. Mark Shouger is the rooms division director and you may want to drop him an email at mshouger@loewshotels.com.

We were never able to get one of the Loew's upgrades at RPR even after becoming platinum. Due to other circumstances, we were able to get a club king suite for our last stay in July, thanks in part to the mgr. It definitely has something to do with how RPR is run. Platinum is not treated the same at all the Loew's because this past New Year's I forgot to make a ressie until the week before up at the Loew's in Phila. after staying there two yrs. in a row(usually making the ressie in Oct.) They advertised no rooms of any kind available on the website, and a call to Loew's said same. However, they gave me a direct # to call the hotel and not only did I get 1 room, but was able to get adjoining rooms......and an apology for not being able to put us on club level like the past two yrs. Mind you, this was all done the week before Christmas!! The rooms had a great view of the fireworks just as before, just 28th flr. instead of 30th. Turns out the club floor was taken up by the Wash. Redskins football team (staying there for their game w/Eagles)and there was also a huge wedding that had booked a ton of rooms. After walking amongst all of those people New Year's Eve, I felt even more appreciative of the words offered upon trying to make a ressie "Oh my, you're platinum....of course we can have a room for you" lol! all that and milk & cookies too! ...but no AAA....forgot to even ask for the discount.

If you're not getting an upgrade at booking through the Loews #, call the hotel you want directly to double check. I booked Coronado Bay today through the Loews First # - clerk was extremely helpful, nice, and thorough - however, he told me that he was unable to get the system to give me the platinum upgrade - he assumed there were no upgrade rooms available and apologized, saying they were close to capacity for those dates. I made the reservation anyway with the AAA rate - then got to thinking about it and called Loews Coronado directly. I nicely explained that I was unable to book my platinum upgrade through Loews and asked her to just confirm that there were no suites available. She promptly told me that she certainly did have executive suites for those days and happily upgraded me - even took the time to describe the room set up for me and explain how the buildings were set up out there and which would be best for my stay. Excellent service - just heads up that sometimes the resort itself has access to info that 'Loews central" doesn't. :smooth:
