Booking a room at Atlantis for a day while docked at Nassau?

My credit card was charged immediately and because I cannot get a refund, so hoping for the best! There was an additional charge of $61.57 for Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees.

Our plan is to get there as soon as we can and to leave the resort by 3pm. I will certainly report back as to our experience once we return to Miami. With luck they give us a room right away too as have happened before. I'm hoping for that possibility but won't bother me if that doesn't happen.

My only worry is they insist we can't have 5 people in the room, but I'm prepared to get a day pass for one of us if that is the case. Fingers crossed it works out okay!

I had to pay in advance (card charged right away), but expedia specifically says I can cancel up to 1 month prior to traveling... there's a big "cancel" button when i click my itinerary on their site.

They list additional fee items as parking and internet, so hopefully we won't be charged anything more than the 160$ or so we paid for the room with tax.

I just checked the prices on Travelocity.ca and it was even cheaper. I was able to get 2 rooms for my family of 5 for $256 CAD. Can cancel up to 2 weeks prior to check in. And it shows the mandatory resort fees included in the price. Expedia.ca was over $300 CAD for 2 rooms

hmm... when/where are you booking? this is what i see on travelocity.ca for dec 11...

This is for an Atlantis Beach Tower room

Hotel rate line item Rate
Enter Promo Code "DEAL10CA" for Added 10% Off
Terrace Room - Intl Net20 Rate (2 Adults, 2 Children), 1 Nights CAD 101.83
Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees (Opens in a new window) CAD 18.07
Additional Mandatory Resort Charges (Opens in a new window) CAD 43.21
Tally line. Spans entire row
Total: CAD 163.11

it's the cheapest option, and exactly what I paid on expedia.ca

I just looked on the Atlantis website about booking a room for May 19th, which would be a Monday, and with taxes and fees it's $473 for one night, in the Beach Tower.

I booked directly on Travelocity.ca for 2 rooms since there is 5 of us

Room 2 : 1 Adult , 1 Child Enter Promo Code "DEAL10CA" for Added 10% Off

Sum of nightly rates: CAD 101.83

Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees: CAD 18.84

Additional Mandatory Resort Charges: CAD 21.61

Room 2 Total: CAD 142.28

TWO Rooms came to $284.56 minus the discount of 10% worked out to $256.10

I booked this afternoon as well at about $160 with taxes off expedia.ca. I called to confirm with them that I could book being outside of Canada. They charged my card right away. This was only $1 more than the Discover Atlantis would have cost us and now we get to go to the water park and pools!!! I called Atlantis to verify as well and they said we can have access to everything even though it will be before 3pm.

Downside is
1. We will have to pay for a taxi there
2. If we don't dock in Nassau we are out the money.

Husband and I decided it was worth the risk. We were on the Dream during Sandy last year though and decided we won't tell the kids about the waterpark until we get there and all is good. Our littlest is 2 and doesn't have the potty training down 100 percent so at least she will get a day at Atlantis in the pools where they allow swim diapers.

Awesome for you!!!!!!! I am a sucker for an extra discount so I of course had to go check it out, looks the the DEALCA10 is for purchases over 250, so I guess I still did good with my expedia.ca :) Thanks stefanospop for sharing this great deal!!!!! LOVE this board!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

We have decided to not tell the kids about going here as well, my DS really wants to go here and would be so disappointed if he knew I had this booked and we couldn't go

Leaving aside the price differential for a minutes (I appreciate that if you are travelling with several people, the savings of booking a room somewhere in Atlantis may be quite a bit cheaper than the $169 per person the cruise charges), are there other advantages to NOT going through the cruise for the Atlantis excursion?

For example, I have read some stories that people who did book through the cruise, had to wait for Disney arranged transport when they got off the ship and therefore only arrived at the resort quite a bit later, than those who made their own arrangements and were able to get off the ship as soon as it docked, find a taxi to the Resort and go right in.

Any thoughts about convenience of the Disney arranged excursion or your own (again, leaving aside cost).
thanx

We stayed at Atlantis 2 years ago in October, the rate was $99/night for the coral tower (plus $50 fee for the maid each day which I believe now has to be disclosed in the price). I get emails all the time with specials and never understood why others booked the comfort inn, of course I assumed I could just book directly if cruising.

That's why I'm hesitant of booking an excursion through DCL. There's no way I wanna pay almost $700 to spend three hours there. I wanna get there early in the morning and enjoy the whole day. I know it's early for me, but when I checked the Atlantis rates for May, the room was like $500 for the night. Better than the $700 for my family of 4, but not great.

If you book the excursion through DCL, do you have to take their bus or can you walk off the boat at 9 and take a cab for $15?

Just did a quick search one of the discount travel sites and the Atlantis Beach Tower for one night is coming up quite a bit cheaper than the Comfort Suites option (and cheaper than the Disney excursion).

Has anyone booked the Beach Tower and then accessed the water park from the cruise that way?

I know it doesn't help you today, but I will let you know in about two weeks. I have the Beach Tower booked for our port day at Nassau on October 23.

Some of you might get lucky with an extended departure time while in port as well. We were on B2B Dream cruises last week and our first stop in Nassau the all aboard time wasn't until 2AM! That would be awesome if you had a room at Atlantis for that long! But the next cruise we left at 6pm. I dont think any of the times on our itineraries were correct. And yes it is very easy to grab a taxi from the cruise dock. There will be swarms of them waiting.

That would be awesome if you could let me / this thread know when you get back. I am not sailing until first week of Jan so I am willing to wait a couple of weeks before I commit. ( hope I don't regret that)
