Booking a Package

I'm really interested in this kids free in September package. I called WDW travel and got a price quote. I then added everything up seperately and it was between 500-700 dollars cheaper seperately depending on the price of the rental car. What I'm wondering is can I ask the travel agent to itemize the expenses? Or do they not do this. I just can't figure out where this hidden 500-700 is. I usually book everything seperately but thought this might work out for us.

Thanks for any help!

What did they give you for a price quote?

It includes room+taxes, airfare for 4, unlimited magic pass for 4 & rental car... Sorry to hear it was still more money, as I was thinking about looking into it!

The quote they gave me for me 2 adults and 3 children ages 6-4-2 was $2735.59.

This was with 6 and 4 year with free airfare and park admission. The 2 year old would have free admission but we'd have to pay for his airfare.

When I added up the price for 3 airfares and 2 Ultimate php plus hotel it came to=1981.71

This price was without me adding in the average cost of a rental car. We would be going for 9 days and 8 nights.

I still can't figure out why the big jump from about 2000.00 plus rental car to 2735.59

In addition to just the "Kids Fly Free" offer, Disney will pair this offer with their regular packages: Resort Magic, Discovery Magic, Deluxe Magic, Grand Plan. You might want to make sure the the quote you received was strictly the "Kids Fly Free" offer, not with another package attached. Disney won't itemize your package unfortunately.

Good Luck and keep us posted!

I also got an outrageous quote for my family of 4. I was shocked I even chose the ASMO thinking I could save money. i would actually prefer camping but that isnt an option when asking for a quote.. Oh well Sometimes individual is the way to go!

The extra hundreds of dollars they charge in those packages are never accounted for. If you itemize your expenses you'll find you actually are giving it away to the travel agency.

It enraged me to realize that twice I gave away over $400.00 in those packages. With two small children, I could have easily found ways to spend almost $1,000 additional cash on us instead, rather than helping an agent have a free vacation.

I did it out of ignorance. It still prepared me to book on my own and know exactly where to keep my eyes open. But if it is your first time traveling to Disney, then get advice from someone else. There is plenty of information on these boards and experienced, knowledgeable people willing to give you help, tips and advice on planning you vacation.

Katd52...
When you are comparing the Disney Travel Co. price with you pricing it separately, you must add in the cost of each member of your family flying, and buying park passes. I don't think your $2000 reflects this. Yes, if only you and your spouse were going, it might cost this, but to compare the package vs. doing it yourself, you must figure in your kids park passes and their airfare.
I have priced this package out each way also, and the "kids go free" program absolutely is a great savings for us, even if I used the $49 rate codes for the AS's. I realize that the adult prices are inflated some, but it still saves you over paying for your kids.

Our trip from Pittsburgh will cost $1531 for 4 nights at ASMovies. We have 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant. 4 airfares would cost about $200/ea. (total $800)., 4 nights at AS would cost $216 with tax using codes, park passes would be at least $900 for Unlimited Magic Pass.

Look again...I hope this makes sense and works for you! Have a great trip!:D

I recently canceled one with Dreams and saved several hundreds of dollars!
From roughly $1,400 to $900, plane and admission tickets included, that's a lot of money to play!
If I want the character meal and so forth, I'll still save a couple hundred bucks.

Lucky's mom- I realize that when you figure out the cost of pricing all these things up seperately that it is a big savings compared to if you had to pay for the kids UMP's and airfare. The thing I didn't understand is when I add up the cost of these things(not including the free children) individualy it came to be almost $700 more expensive. At the time I didn't realize they were charging rack rate on the rooms, so that could make my estimate a little off. I added up the cost of 2 adult UMP's ,1 room, and 3 airfares.
For us it would have cost more than our original plan which is to;
Drive down and get 5 day hopper passes and use the $49 room rate.
