Booking a MYW package with AP?

I am thinking of buying an AP and one of the main reasons would be the resort discounts. Can I book a MYW package with dining using an AP rate? I know you are supposed to book all the people in the room on one plan, so if I didn't need the park passes for me, could I still do the package?
Also, are there generally AP discounts throughout most of the year? (I would assume they just vary in amount).
I hope all the answers are yes, I'm shooting for CR MK view!!

As to your question re: booking a MYW + dining at an AP rate - sorry, that's not possible. There's a really good FAQ thread that should answer some questions re: the dining plan.

Usually the only way to get a room discount for a package w/dining is to either book through AAA if you're a member or to book a special package w/dining if Disney releases them. Otherwise, the room portion of a package w/dining is at rack rate.

So if you choose to book a package w/dining, each person in the room must have the same tickets and dining. I do believe each guest in the room can apply their unused 1 day ticket towards the purchase/renewal of an AP. Someone else may chime in and give more info on that. (HOPING!!)
