I just added AAA discount to my room only reservation yesterday. I simply called CRO and asked for the AAA rate. Saved me $27.00 a night over 7 days or $189.00 total.
I just checked yesterday with CRO on AAA rates for May......I did ask if AP
rates come out if I can apply AP rate instead and the CM stated "Only if
there are rooms available at your resort at the AP rate, since discount rates are limited sometimes we cannot apply the discount rate to an already
booked room" Hey I noticed you're right down the road from us......we're in
Moosic.
I've always done a "room only" ressies through CRO and have always been able to apply a AAA discount. I also have an AP and haven't had a problem yet applying that discount once it has come out.
If you don't mind someone else having control of your reservation, then using a travel agent (AAA or otherwise) can be very convenient. If you prefer to have control of your own reservation, the ability to make changes when and if you want to, then I'd recommend booking yourself. Once you have booked with a TA they OWN your reservation and you are at their mercy regarding any additional requests or changes.
With regard to AAA discounts, CRO can give you the AAA discount (if available) for your room and then you can add KTTW tickets to the reservation. If you want a package (such as MYW plus dining) using the AAA room discount rate, you must book through your AAA TA.
