Booking 2 weeks out?

Ok, here is my situation....I will be getting some money in on Aug 1st. We would be able to get to port for the Aug 17th 4 day? I know there is space avail today, however I can not book till Aug 1st. My question is how has anyones experience been in getting cat 10, 11, 0r 12 only 2 weeks out?? I am looking for hope! I am kidding myself by thinking we can get it? Thanks

Hi There! I can offer a little bit of hope. I sailed on the March 9th wonder - smack dab in the middle of spring break! I met a family who booked last minute (I believe within a week of cruising!). I'm not sure what catagory they were in and chances are you would get a "GTY" cabin and be assigned an actual cabin at the port. Good luck and I hope it all works out!

THANK YOU, a glimmer of hope. If I book last minute, how do I get my cruise docs? AT Port? I am hoping. I would love to get on the wonder, but if I have to will settle for Carnival or Royal Carb. Has anyone sailed them? Will I be dissappointed. I should mention it will be our 1st cruise. Again Thanks

hi, we just booked two weeks ago for our aug. 2 cruise. my sister really wanted a cat. 11 to save money when she booked with us, but none was available so she got a cat. 10 for quite a bit more. now this week, even though she has her documents, i went online and kept trying to see what is available and now there is a cat. 11; her travel agent contacted dcl and she got over a $1,000 credit to her credit card and the cat. she wanted. i believe right at the end, people who didn't pay or put off paying or others cancel and those categories become available. i just kept trying online till it popped up. and we are leaving next week.

Ok, stupid question.....but when you book that late, do you get any kind of discount, or do you have to pay full price?

I just booked today!!!! I do not know what kind of discount we got. It seems to be the same as if we did early booking for next year. WE ARE GOING HURRAY!

We booked cat 11 GTY? I guess I will get the stateroom number when I get there. I AM SO EXCITED!!!
