Hello! This is a bit early, but I am trying to wrap my head around it. My family is planning two stays in 2015. We own 220 points at Aulani with a March use year. We have 218 2014 points and 220 points coming 3/1/15.
We are staying (hopefully) at VGC in a 1BR 2/7-2/10/2015. This costs 102 points. I can book this 7/7/14.
We are staying at Aulani in a 1BR Pool View 5/29-6/5/2015, costing 322 points. I can book this 6/29/14.
I am having a hard time wrapping my head around making these reservations since I am making the one for the first travel dates (VGC) second. Do I bank the 116 points I am not using for 2014, into 2015 before making the Aulani reservation, leaving me the points I need to make the 1BR. This feels risky- what if the 1BR is not available and I need to stay at DLH. DLH is 2 points more, so I guess I could just bank 116 and then bank the last two later if I got VGC, but then I would likely lose them because I could not bank them again....
Am I better off just waiting the 8 days until after I book VGC to book Aulani? I know June is a popular time- but I would still be booking 10.5 months ahead, just not right at the 11 month time. I am not looking for the cheapest rooms, so would this likely be fine?
ETA- And there is a chance the VGC reservation may cost as much as 148 points if we do a 2BR, meaning we would need to borrow a little from 2016 for Aulani. This would be figured out by booking time obviously!
