Hubby and I booked our trip! We've been thinking and talking it over about doing just a me and him trip. Well after much thought, we booked last night! I INSTANTLY after seeing the confirmation numbers for the flight and resort felt guilty! I feel guilty because we're not bringing the kids, lol. As a couple we need this and we're so looking forward to just us going. My MIL will stay with the kids. If I feel guilty now, how the heck am I going to handle when we go? LOL

We did a trip like that 5 years ago! Felt the same same way but then I got to thinking that we really deserve this. I got to Disney and just had a fun time acting like a kid myself. It was such a great trip just the two of us I would recommend to anyone! !! Your kids will get their turn someday enjoy yourself its not like you do it all the time. I was lucky their aunt did great things with them and they had their own blast! Hopefully for you MIL will plan some fun for the kids!

I understand Mommy-guilt. Seriously. But I think the fact that you're feeling guilty in this case points to the fact that you don't act selfishly, you do lots of good stuff for your kids, and you want the best for them. So you take a few days away with your husband and enjoy and recharge - you'll come back refreshed and ready for more fun with your kids! It's a win-win! :)

Good for you! I come from a family that is a firm believer in couple time regardless of the destination.

Thank you all! All couples need couple time. I never expected to go to disney without them, but whatever works, lol. We still plan on taking them next fall....:cool1: I think hubby and I will be lost when we go. We're so used to having to take our time and work everything around the kids and tantrums...this is going to be lovely! :cheer2:

DH and I just did an adult's only trip last month and we had an amazing time. That being said, I had a lot of guilt too. The day we left I felt really bad but once we were on the plane I was able to enjoy myself and, honestly, I didn't feel all that guilty once we arrived in Disney. My kids have had a lot of great experiences and opportunities and it's important for DH and I to have some "us" time without the kids.

I just booked a family trip to Disney next year and I'm looking forward to going back with the whole gang this time.

Enjoy your trip!

Don't feel guilty! This is your time as a couple and for healthy well adjusted kids, parents need time to themselves. They will be fine! Go and enjoy yourselves!
