We've finally booked!

Going are:

- Me (20...will be 21!) :yay: (3rd trip)
- Josh...the fiance (21) (1st trip!)
- Liam...the younger brother (will be 13) (3rd trip)
- Fran...the Nan (66!) (4th trip)

We're going on the 22nd August for FREE DINING :woohoo: Staying for two weeks at Animal Kingdom Lodge...sooo excited! Have only stayed at POFQ and - although I *love* it there - we're trying something new this time.

*runs around squealing* So excited! Just a whole year of uni to get through first!!

Happy planning and great news on your booking :thumbsup2
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I too am considering POFQ instead of AKL because I don't want to pay extra for a savannah view so prob not much point in going to AKL may as well save my money and do moderate instead I think. I notice that you love POFQ....sell it to me!!!

Thanks guys!

Sarah - I loved your wedding PJ btw! We're going to head over to POFQ during our trip to show Josh around and so he can why I love it so much! Might see you around!

To be honest, I wish we were staying at POFQ instead of AKL...Its like a home away from home. We stayed there for 2 weeks in 2005 and then for 3 weeks in 2007...even after that long, we didn't want to leave! But I guess it'll be good to try somewhere new and we'll save money by not having to shell out OOP for table service meals!

I have a couple of tips for POFQ

- Try and request a room in block 5....thats close to the boats, pool, food court etc and you're also near the big green grassy area which is lovely early in the morning, or later on in the evening
- Use the boat when you head to and from Downtown Disney...definately better than using the buses...its a really lovely journey! In fact, my Nan would be happy to move out there and work as 'captain' on one of the boats!
- Head over to POR a few times - their food court serves different foods and the shop has lots more items than POFQ does...its also a nice walk, or you could take the boat
- Think about having a carriage ride, at nighttime...I might head over to POFQ/POR just for that one night!

POFQ's atmosphere is unbelievable...its calm yet fun at the same time. We were surprised at the small number of people we actually encountered, other than in the food court, pool and shop. The grounds, and pools, theming is fantastic...definately feel like youre in New Orleans! It must say something that I'd rather be staying here than at AKL or a deluxe! If you need any more selling to, head over to the Resort forum...theres PLENTY of threads there with POFQ lovers! :thumbsup2

it sounds fantastic, i cant wait till we get out there! only another 10 months to go!!!

Thanks, I am slowing getting through my trip report as well and the wedding pics will be up soon!

Thanks, the info is very useful. I was very sceptical of going to POFQ at first and thought I was down selling myself (being used to value resorts though I doubt it!) but after what you and others have said I am looking forward to it now! Roll on Sept 2009!!!
