Booked wrong flight! Help!

I did that the very first time I've ever booked flights for vacation. I wanted to book a flight 6mo out and instead booked it for that exact day ! I printed out my reservation confirm but never really looked it over. I didn't catch it till a couple months later! I cried and called Southwest, the lady was like "yep, you missed your flight, no problem" She switched it to the correct date with no charge. I'm so glad I booked with Southwest or we would have been out $600 . Now I'm OCD about double and triple checking everything!

Don't count on getting SW Pixie Dust. They refused to credit me back because I cancelled 24 hours and 3 minutes after booking LOL!

They actually changed their policy about missed flights. Now if you miss it, your forfeit the $$ (assuming wanna get away fares).

Confession. I once booked the family trip to WDW in reverse. Instead of Newark to Orlando, RT, I booked Orlando to Newark, RT. Oops.

I called and they fixed it, I noticed it later the same day.

Last year on our Southern California/Disneyland vacation I forgot my trip dates and booked our first hotel night for the day before our flight. Then I drove my kids the 2 hours to the airport, only to realize as we attempted to check in that our flight was the next day. Too late to cancel the hotel, though they were very gracious and upgraded our room when we finally arrived. I felt like such an idiot.

Not Disney related, but in 2012 I booked a GREAT fare to see the ILs at Thanksgiving. My SIL was also flying in with her family, so I called her to confirm all the details. Lucky for me, because as she and I were talking, I realized that I didn't know what day TG was on and booked flights for the wrong weekend. That was one of those years that TG seemed early because there were 5 Thursdays in the month instead of 4, and I just assumed when I looked at the calendar that it would fall on the last Thursday of the month (forgetting the rule that TG is always on the 4th Thursday of the month). We were booked on SW, so I was able to switch to the right weekend right away, but it was much more expensive. I felt so stupid.
