booked trip - 7/4-7/11 need to cancel URGENT

I have reservations July 4 - July 11 at the boardwalk studio preferred view and I have a family emergency I need to sell this week -can anyone help

You might want to note the resort and room type.

If you cancel up until July 3, your points will go into a holding account and may be used for another reservation made within 60 days of arrival.

Post on the rent trade board for rent. My guess is this post will be moved. You may want to look to auction on ebay, bidshares and the like. You could also cancel and have the points in a holding account, they would expire at the end of your use year. You could then try to rent them or use them prior to the end of your use year You could also ask DVC if you could use your once in a lifetime, double secret exemption. If so, you could return the points to regular status and even bank them if not already banked points. Whether it's worth it to use up that exemption depends on specifics and your personal situations. Remember that until 1 day prior, you have lost all you will lose. So if you don't rent the reservation, cancel at the last minute, they day before arrival. Good luck, I hope it works out.

DVC has been known to give you a Mulligan on recovering points. They have not published this option but have allowed many people over the years to recover points that otherwise would be in a holding account or the like. When they do, they always says it's a one time thing. I personally had to cancel the day of a reservation once. I was able to take the points out of the holding account AND bank them. What I don't know is if they have a way to keep up with who's been allowed their one freebie.

I agree with Dean. Call Disney.

I actually wandered over here in case someone had a last minute cancel on reservation for July 4 and I would buy yours, but there is no way my family can stay that long. (We have to go back to work on Tuesday!)

The reservation is for the beautiful Board Walk Villas, a preferred BoardWalk view, studio! We made sure that it was going to be the [preferred Board Walk view

Disney will probably let you change the name.

Apparently Disney will allow a one time redeposit of points if it is an emergency . This is a once in a lifetime deal and I have no idea how it works if you have borrowed points.

If you still want to rent the points, I would recommend reposting with the dates and the price you want. With the late date, you might want to stay on the low end of point renting. (It is too late to cancel Disney hotels and plane tickets are not cheap at this date!)

My family emergency took a turn for the better and we don't ahve to seel the July 4th week! Isn't that wonderful? What an emotional roller coaster ride I am glad it's over!!!
