Oh my gosh, I can't believe it. After 5 trips to WDW we have decided to try some thing a little different. That's good right? :scratchin

There is so much of the US that we want to see and as much as we love Florida, and we do, we have booked LA (staying at the Sheraton Anaheim), Vegas (Luxor) and San Fran (Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf). :jumping1:

Would welcome any hints, tips, comments good, bad or indifferent. We are stressing out already about not having enough time to see everything! We are used to having tranfers, passes etc all thrown in and this is flights and accomadation only. How easy is it to get around? :chat:

Thanks, Elaine.

How long do you have in each place? Where are you flying into and out of? If you love WDW, you'll want to spend at least 3 days at the Disneyland Resort. In Las Vegas, I think lots of Disney fans would like the Star Trek Experience, although some may not. They're opening a new 3D movie there soon, based on a Borg attack. How much do you want to gamble and soak in the pools, and how much do you want to see things?

There's lots of things to do in San Francisco, but a lot depends upon if you have kids, and how old they are.

Good for you :D
just like us...sort of :D

we're going to California instead of WDW this year too however our trip isn't quite as widespread as yours....
we're doing San diego first....seaworld...the zoo and sightseeing in San Diego itself...then moving up to Anaheim to do DL....staying at the GC.... and then on to Santa Monica...to do a little beach and a little Universal Studios and LA touring.
Its been so different planning....I've learned so much about WDW so when it came to planning this...I have been overwhelmed!! in a fun way though....and I already regret not having enough days

We live in Las Vegas, so let me know if you have any questions. The Luxor is a great hotel. Are you in the pyramid or the towers? Don't know the ages of your group, but there is a fun ride and show there also. Also, depending on when you are coming, Wet N Wild may be open if you like water parks at all. This one is great, and this is the last year it will be open, as they are tearing it down after summer, so you would be able to say you had been there! It has been 85 all week here, so beautiful. Hope you have a great time, and like i said, let me know if you have any questions!

Sheraton Anaheim -- It's a nice hotel, on the backside of Disneyland. I believe they have their own shuttle to Disneyland Resort. Also, it's $10 to park there for guests - I think $10/night. If you booked the hotel through the Disney Company, you can use the WDTC guest services to rent a car, if you'd like to go to the beach, another amusement park, the beach, etc.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn/Fisherman Wharf in San Fran back in '98. The pier was within walking distance, as well as the end of the trolley car line, and Ghiradelli Square - we didn't need our car for any of that. Note that the weather can be unpredictable, and the kids could only stay in the pool for a short while because it got too cold for us. We still had a lot of fun there.

Were driving from Denver to Ca as soon as school is out. We plan to stay one night at the Luxor just because the kids will get a kick out of the pyramid, ( they will love the inclinators). I just wish we were going on a weekday because it is so much cheaper. Then we will spend a few days at DL and Newport Beach and then on to Carlsbad(business and pleasure) then home by way of Phoenix(where my family is). ---this doesn't really answer any of your questions but I thought it was neat that your itinerary was similar to mine!
