We booked our room for the night that we get to orlando and for our last day at disney. GOt a very good deal at days inn for 32 dollars a night. woohoo getting so close i cant wait

I am looking for a hotel for our first night also. Which days inn is this? How did you get it so cheap? Did you use priceline or another booking site? Thanks!

Make sure you check out hotels.com or some other site for reviews. Im not saying you booked a bad hotel...I would just check it out for sure. We booked an off property hotel on the internet back in 1999. It looked great, was cheap...and we saw why when we got there:scared1:
We took one look at the room (which backed up to a parking lot carnival) and hightailed it out of there in search of something decent!! We asked to see a room at the Holiday Inn and took that. It was a miserable start to a week at Disney!
Since that trip, we have only stayed ON property:goodvibes

You really have to be careful when booking a room off-site. I head over that way a couple times a year and each time we go it seems that the hotels in the area look worse and worse. I can't stress enough what the pp said about checking reviews and checking them over and over again. Getting a room for cheap is one thing, but some of the rooms that are available for cheap you couldn't pay me to stay in.

I've stayed at that hotel twice. Only for one night each time. It was our get to town hotel before actual disney stay.

The reviews go both ways. But for 32 dollars I think it was fine. It was clean both times I was there. The first time there were some boys sitting on the steps smoking that might have caused some concern if I was the nervous type.

The second time we faced the road way and it was very easy to hear the traffic. Fire trucks in the middle of the night going down the street.

That said, for 32 dollars and I knew it was one night, it was fine. Clean and door locks worked. Location wise I felt good too. Ihop is right across the street. Very close to some water park(wet and wild?).

If you are super picky about your hotels, cancel and go somewhere else.

cant cancel because apparently you have to pay for this when you book. it has a no cancellation policy. since we are staying on site and this will be our arrival and departure day hotel, i would rather pay 32 instead of 200 for Disney. we will be going to the beach before heading home and i didn't see any reason to stay on site. i would rather save money for souvenirs. we are use to sleeping in sub-par hotels.

Which Day's Inn? There are several in the area? Can you give a street address?

We stayed at the Day's Inn near Universal 2 years ago on our last night for $25. It was certainly a well-used hotel with nice people but really needed a refurb. :rotfl: The kids had fun in the swimming pool with all the other kids and it was only for 1 night and a great price. It still makes me giggle when I think back to our stay there - it was such a difference from the rest of our vacation!

I hope that you have a great experience at your Day's Inn and you did get an awesome deal!:) Have a fabulous trip!

I book with priceline for those one-nighters. The last time I did that I got a hotel near Universal for $27 which was pretty decent. We had a suite so extra space in the room, a free hot breakfast of everything imaginable, and there was a nice tikki bar with homemade burgers etc.. set up at the pool in the evening. It also had a free shuttle to Universal, but we didn't need that.

I think the regular price was around $85 per night.

Unless it is the Day's In at 9990 International Drive, very close to the Beachline and Convention Center, it is not listed in the current AAA Directory. That one is rated with two Diamonds.

Not listed in the AAA Directory tends not be be a good sign.

its the one on international across from universal

That is the one that we stayed at. It was clean with nice staff but in need of a refurb. There was a Cracker Barrell down the road that we ate at. We had been at Grand Beach Resort in a 3 bed/3 bath condo and I didn't want to pay $250 to stay there for our final night so was excited to get Day's Inn for $25. We went from this huge luxurious condo with tonnes of space to a regular hotel room in need of a refurb. We met some wonderful people in the pool and the kids had fun there. At Grand Beach, we were the only people using the pool so it was fun to go to the pool and have it full of fun-loving people.

You got a great deal and you will be fine staying there on either end. Like you said, that saved money will buy lots of great soveniors! Have a wonderful trip.:cheer2:
