This morning I booked our first trip "home" since becoming DVC members a couple of weeks ago. DH is going to do the 15K the first weekend in May, so we're getting a studio at Saratoga Springs (which is our home resort - Wilderness Lodge Villas were not available for a studio).
It took some convincing for DH to agree that we should use our points for the trip. I told him that since we're paying DVC, that means we don't have a lot of extra cash laying around for paying for a moderate resort, so we should go ahead and use our DVC points since that's what we bought into it for... and our monthly payment for DVC is close to what we'd pay for a moderate that weekend anyway... so it's not like we're wasting our points or money!
FWIW, DH is the one who said we should buy into DVC... but I think he wants us to save all our points for cruising - although we don't have enough without taking two years worth at once for the time of year we could travel.
Anyway, I was amazed at how easy it was go get the reservation made once I held on the line for 5 minutes (which is what they said it would be and it was).
