I got in on a promo, but the price I booked at was still high. I'm hoping for lower prices and I will switch my vacation.

WE are staying 6 nights in October. 4 nights are at $179. 2 Nights are at $229. Every day we get a $50 food credit to use in the hotel, even at Dominos. I figured that since I am going anyway I should book this "just okay" promo. THe daily $50 food credit is a nice bonus. I have seen that same credit given when the rooms are offered at $129, so I'm hoping October rates lower.

and there has always been a promotion for that time frame, last year we paid $99 + resort fee per night, and I think the year before that it was around $125. Travelzoo is usually the most accurate, so keep checking that website. Good Luck!!

I'm going in August and can't find cheaper then $234. I saw $179, but it is advance and if I book using that, there is no cancellation or changes allowed, so I am waiting.....where did you find that rate? THANKS!!!!

I called and asked for the water zone rate (travel zoo). The girls said there was a promo that was better then the water zone rate and gave me this special. It's totally refundable too.

I called Nick Hotel to check on the Ultimate Dining Package. It is $189 per night for the dates I wanted. Plus I could get the $50 food credit a day. BUT as she kept looking, she said she saw a better deal. It is the "Shades of Green" (no relation to the military hotel, although my DH is in the guard). Anyway, it is $149 for a 2 BDRM!!!! Plus the $25 hotel fee is waived each night. So we went with that deal!!!! My kids chose the Fairly Odd Parents themed room. If you're planning on staying....keep hounding them for a better deal!!!!! GOOD LUCK!

Thanks so much for sharing this. I just booked 3 nights in a 1 bedroom suite for $99. with resort fee waived. The cheapest for our dates with the ultimate dining was 179. + $25 resort fee. That's even better than my TA discount! :worship:

What are your dates for this great deal? And what was the special called? Thanks!

I just got this shades of green promo for my October trip. The rates were $149/night $199/night fri-sat, no resort fee. I switched my reservation. Plus this rate is changable. You can cancel or change without a penalty.

Used the shades of green code... is that for green slime maybe? :confused3

We're going Aug 15, a week or so before we check in for free dining. DD18 needs to meet with an advisor at santa fe college in Gainesville the week in between, sure hope we find somewhere nice to stay reasonably near the college. I've promised DD7 a long visit to the teaching zoo while big sis checks out the campus and surrounding area.

Typically Aug is a more expensive time than Oct so I was especially pleased. The $99 is for just a 1 bedroom suite (not the two bedroom which was 149 I think) but that's okay with me. For that price we can live without bunk beds. There's still a sleep sofa and seperate bedroom so we'll be just fine.

Interestingly enough, on the phone she said the resort fee would be waived, so my total should be around $111 after tax, but at the bottom of the email confirmation it still lists a resort fee.
I plan to call and double-check it tomorrow. Does anyone who booked the same code have an email that doesn't have the resort fee in fine print at the bottom? Maybe it's just a standard email form. I'd feel better though if I had something in writing saying it was waived...

I checked my reservation, even though she told me that the fee would be waived, it is still listed at the bottom. I will call today too.

Thanks for posting "shades of green" rate.
What is the main difference between 1 bedroom for $99 and 2 bedroom $149.
I'm thinking Nick cartoon pictures on the wall and bunk/twin beds.
Are the characters easily accessible in the mall area; or are they only available at character breakfast?

I noticed everyone booking 3 nights; is 2 nights enough if we don't do any parks?

YES 2 nights is enough if you are hanging there. Characters are in the mall area at different times during the day, and then at the Character breakfast. Have a great time! We love it there!!

When we went the characters were in the mall area each day maybe from like 1-2:30
We saw Dora, Diego, spongebod, squidward, and blue

I just booked 2 nights Sun Aug 17 for $99/night(1 bedroom).

My confirmation states resort fees not included. I mentioned this to the reservationist; and was told it is part of the form letter they send out and cannot be changed. I was assured it was waived for the shade of green promo.

I gave my sons the choice of bunkbeds/paint on the wall or Indianna Jones Lego. No brainer! They are just super excited about going.

Other interesting facts: dive in movies only shown on Friday nights; may change as summer gets busier.. each guest is only allowed to book 1 night time show per visit/night?!?

Thanks again everyone for your tips!

My boys are big Lego fans; so we always schedule a half day for the Lego store in DTD. With the $100 savings for 2 nights; we could buy a pretty big Lego set instead. Indianna Jones is heavily featured in the May-June Lego club magazine.

thanks for the tip! we go every July for one night so the kids can get their fill and I hate to pay more than $200 a night.. I will have to give them a call.

we just saw the indiana jones movis this am. Great movie. we are taking ds for his bday in Nov to disney and will be spending some time for sure at the lego store! He only has the smaller IJ sets. he just got the latest catalog and is loving some of the new Indiana Jones sets..

I just booked Shades of Green for Nov 14th and 15th - weekend nights and got $149.00 for the 1 bedroom.

I'm guessing that might be the best i get since it is a weekend...but I'll keep watching for lower.

We're not even positive we'll be there yet - but this is getting me excited just making this ressie. :)

On that Sunday we're likely heading over to Gaylord Palms for dh's conference.

So, for that dive-in movie....do I make reservations before I get there or does it have to be done at the desk at check-in?

finally called today- I booked the 2 bedroom king bed with bunk beds for $149 a night- no resort fee:cool1: it came to $167 total with tax.. we are going for our annual trip in July..
