Finally booked next summer - decided to go with OKW one bedroom with free dining again.

We have booked a fly drive with BA - really pleased with price as we have paid less for flights plus car than VA wanted for flight only. The best bit was I have only paid a deposit too :)

Pleased to have it all booked - slightly nervous as we have only flown Virgin in recent years but the price difference was too much to ignore.

:cool1:Nice!:cool1:
Those OKW FD deals are just so hard to resist;)

We have also just booked next summer's trip - going to California and Hawaii but only have the LA flights at the moment - will need to add Hawaii separately. Can't wait!:goodvibes

Well done!! We flew BA last year and they were fine. I had also been nervous about going with them after a more than 10 year stay-away from them due to countless hassles I'd had time after time years before, but it all went fine. Their website and online check in process is very user friendly as well

Lee - did you pay to book seats?

I haven't and don't really want to - just looking for some advice :goodvibes

We have stayed away from BA due a bad experience many years ago but figured at the right price it might be worth giving them another go :thumbsup2

I didn't. And because you have a child under 12 they will pre allocate your seats 7 to 10 days out which they do to keep families together. When I checked at OLCI 24 hours before there were loads of seats available but the seats they chose for us were only one row away from the ones we would have paid for when I toyed with the idea of doing so and we decided to keep them. It would have had a nil value to us because there was a mechanical issue with the plane that day and they used a replacement half the size so we all ended up in different places anyway

I am flying with BA in March. Have only ever flown Virign (with the exception of one MyTravel flight about 7 years ago) so not sure how BA will compare but like you, Tracy, the price was enough to persuade me.

I haven't paid to pre-book seats as there are only two of us and I am fairly confident that I will be able to find two seats together when we do OLCI. I will let you know if this provides any problems though.

Just out of interest, are you renting out your DVC points when you book the FD deals? Or just using them for your other trips?

Can anyone tell me how much you have to pay to pre book seats with BA? We've book SSR for October 2014, so trying to work out costs and prepaying to select seats is a new one to me.

Thanks in advance!

I believe it's £20 per person, unless you are travelling Club - then it's £60 per person.

It was £28 for us last year, per person, per international sector (we had domestic connections as well)

I originally booked through BA a few weeks ago and then cancelled but when checking my booking online it was again £28 per person per sector (less for domestic).

Unless there are different charges depending where you depart from?

It's quite a hefty outlay. For two of us it would have been £112 for the international flights return. Double that for a family of 4 :scared1:

Slightly off post - but when in Oct are you going ? We're at SSR 4 - 18th October 2014, flying with Virgin from Gatwick

They quoted me nearly 240 for 4 of us! I would never pay. There is no way they'll sit a 4 and 6 year old away from parents. If they did I may even end up having a relaxing flight leaving someone else to deal with them :-)

Thanks everyone - not booking seats will take a chance :thumbsup2

We had borrowed rather heavily to go last Easter and don't really have enough now we are stuck to school holidays (bought when we could go in the cheapest seasons and didn't think we wouldn't pull DD out of school :confused3 ) so we are using the free DDP offers to stretch and get out of borrowing.

We actually like OKW and would stay on points too :goodvibes
