Thanks for the info re seat prices. Another thing to factor into the budget! Good job we only do Florida every couple of years.

They quoted me nearly 240 for 4 of us! I would never pay. There is no way they'll sit a 4 and 6 year old away from parents. If they did I may even end up having a relaxing flight leaving someone else to deal with them

You'r right and this is one of (if not THE) reason why they allocate the seats for families with children before OLCI comes open. It's not just that you don't want to be separated from your kids, let's face it, who wants to be stuck with someone else's kids for 9 hours! My DD will be 12 next year so first time flying as an 'adult' I don't expect as a party of two that there is much risk of us being separated so I'm not fretting it - and ours is a code share on BA booked through AA so we have no option of OLCI - it's desk on the day only. We'll be fine. I'd swap or move around to accommodate someone separated from their child if I could. People aren't that bad
