Called this am and booked with free dining. Rep shared that free dining at this time is with a PIN code only and not a general public offering. I know many here have wondered if it would be made available to the public. I have not received a pin in 6 years, so I have more than thrilled to have one now. Some changes with this free dining, value and moderates are being offered quick service, moderates no longer offered the regular dining plan. I usually choose moderate for that reason, I still chose moderate and upgraded for $13.00 each person each day, but I have all boys.

And congrats!! So when are you going, and did you get your PIN via email or snail mail? Do tell!

Interesting about the mods offering only quick service. But I'd do the same as you did too.

Congrats!!

Jul 1 thru July 8th, staying at the Coronado. I have never stayed there but it looks beautiful and I look forward to the stay. I do miss the old dining plan when apps, tax and tip were included! the PIN I found out about while calling Disney Reservations, no snail mail, no email.

Cool! :thumbsup2 Have a fabulous time. I read on another thread that others were calling in and having PINs attached to their name. Guess I better give it a whirl! Thanks for the head's up!!

I called and there was no free dining code connected with either mine or my husband's name. She did search by our last name and my MIL, SIL and my nephew all have free dining codes available. However, they are not traveling with us so it's a mute point.

It has been interesting since it seems some got the QS with mods and some got the regular. I know I had a pin code and it was regular dining plan with mods & deluxes. Mine did have a 2-day ticket requirement so it will be interesting to see if the QS one for mods has that too or just 1 day.

Moderate resort = quick service?
Really?
is that new policy for free dining?

Each offer is different. There isn't a "policy". This particular offer is a PIN code received by the person booking the room.

I have room/tickets for 7 nights and 8 days. The Rep told me, after I asked about the change in meal plan for mods, that Disney is cutting back- I have no idea if thats accurate or its just associated with my pin. and I anticpate I will never get an accurate answer, if you ask 3 reps a question you will get 4 answers

Congrats on the pin.:cool1: It pays to ask. That's how I found out about a pin I had connected to my name. Enjoy!:yay:

I called today and was told that I had one for QS for Value & Mod, Reg for Deluxe. The CM said minimum stay was 3 nights and minimum ticket was 2 days.

I'm waiting on DH to give the approval to move us up to a Mod. We'll upgrade our dining plan from QS to Regular and still be within our budget! :thumbsup2

She also said that it would probably be later today or tomorrow before emails are sent - so don't give up hope if you're refreshing your inbox!

Are there any certain dates that are eligible with this pin??? Have a short room only trip planned in May & 2 trips in Sept.

For Disney to be celebrating 40yrs the deals to me have not been really appealing. I don't know about anybody else how you feel about them, but they really seem to be very slim this year so far. I know there is a general public offer right now on the Disney website up to 40% but it even is very slim. I just went and looked at it again and to get it you have to book a certain resort. For instance we are wanting to go in Sept. and we usually stay Value. What I am reading is that in order to get 25% I have to book All Star Movies. I could just shoot myself right now for not being able to book by the free dining deadline, but money was just not available that close to Christmas. I guess I could have and told my kids and my large family that I couldn't buy them anything for Christmas because I am booking my vacation.. I don't think my kids would have liked that 1 bit.

I don't know how they usually are, but I'm rather bummed at the moment because NOTHING that has been released helps me. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! And I'd take ANYTHING! Our dates are 6/13-6/23 and they have that time COMPLETELY blacked out. We can do it without a discount, but it sure would be nice to have *something*. ::sigh::

We're already booked for Sept. Which number should I call to find out if we're eligible for free dining, the reservation line or the ADR line?

we are booked for Aug 20-28 and after being spoiled with FD the past couple trips...we want it again...
here is hoping we get the pin or at least a break
