We are leaving on March 9 and am counting the sleeps before we leave! Our 2 DDs are so excited that they packed their suitcases already!

We have booked the Anaheim Hilton for 5 nights. I've heard great things about it and have eaten at their Cafe Oasis restaurant several times during previous trips. If anyone has any comments to add about this hotel, we'd love to hear it.

I am nervous about our San Diego hotel though. Got it through Priceline. It's the Hyatt La Jolla on Aventine. I've read some negative comments (i.e. dirty bathroom) about it on Trip Advisor. Can anyone tell me more about it??? Any info on the neighbourhood that it's in?

Thanks in advance!

I've never stayed at the Hyatt La Jolla, but I can tell you what neighborhood it is in. It's in an area we call the Golden Triangle, it's a bit of a strech saying it's in La Jolla. It is located in a buisness complex that also has some excellent resturants and there is a decent shopping mall, University Towne Center right up the street. It has great freeway access to the I-5 as well. You should be happy with the location, it is pretty central to everything. I hope you have a great time!

We stayed at the Hyatt in La Jolla in August and we really pleased with it! Our room was perfectly clean, the maid service did a great job of cleaning/restocking while we were there too. The concierge was great. They had perfect suggestions for everything we were looking for. Even called and ordered Mac and Cheese for our girls from a local restaurant when we asked if it was served in the hotel anywhere and it wasn't. The restaurant was 'Sofias' and is out across the 'drop off' from the hotel, we were very pleased with the food. The pool was great and clean and was surrounded by cabanas. Parking was pricey, we parked on the street.

thanks so much for your feedback about the area and hotel! our 2 dds will certainly enjoy the shopping mall and the fact that there is mac n cheese close by. they're 5 and 8 and love this kiddie food loaded with ketchup!!!

we are really looking forward to the trip now! 62 sleeps to go!

i also want to ask if anyone out there knows about a nice beach close to this hotel. would it be the la jolla beach?

thanks again!

Definitly go to La Jolla Shores if the weather is warm enough. It's a great beach. Just make sure to shuffle your feet if you go in the water to scare off any sting rays. Also if you go at low tide there are really fun tide pools at either end of the beach.
