Woohoo, couldn't post until we'd booked but got American Airlines business class from DUB to MCO (13th - 28th August) for £780 per person.

This isn't for everybody as we'll have to Ryanair across from Manchester to Dublin the night before and it's indirect as well but for the lounges and lie flat beds and champagne and steak and pre-boarding immigration etc, we think it's worth it.

Plus it'll give us enough miles combined with our Virgin miles to fly business for free next year!

For anyone not used to the search for Dublin flights, feel free to ask questions, we did it last year and wouldn't think twice (obviously) about doing it again!

PS, for those not willing to spend £780, there are some combinations as cheap as £625 per person for business class indirect from Dublin. Hipmunk.com is your friend!

Well done on booking :thumbsup2

Personally, the Ex-Dub flights are not for us. You've got to go across the day before to come back and that means another day or half day annual leave which I would rather spend in Fl rather than travelling.

We're actually going to fly out on the 10pm ryanair on Friday night so not losing a day on this one as we'd just have flown Saturday anyway. It's a lot of hassle and definitely not for everyone though!

Ooh, your 6000th post!

I've booked the ex-Dublin flights for our summer trip to LAX. We're travelling LPL to DUB to LHR and staying overnight. The following day we go LHR to LAX with Virgin in upper class!! I've booked an internal flight down to Orlando and then it's return to Manchester again with Virgin in upper class - all for £1100 each!!

The extra night makes it so worth it for us. I love the ex- Dub flights especially as we're so near to Liverpool airport.

Nice one, we returned to Manchester when we did it last year but it was £1400 for DUB-MCO-MAN so we are coming back to Dublin on the way home. Business class is definitely worth it though. Upper is brill, we did it two years ago on miles and should have enough next year for one leg again, can't wait.

Sounds great. Only flown business class once when we got an upgrade when we agreed to be bumped off an earlier flight.

Cost us just over £800 last August via Dub, definitely the way to go if it works for you. From MAN it would have cost us another £1,000pp

Hi Wayne, just a quick question, how did you find the return out of Dublin? Do you have to do immigration in Ireland, collect your bags then bag through security for the flight to Manchester?

It was just a quick show of passport. collected bags from AA then had to walk thru to other terminal (5 min walk) check in with Ryanair and on our way to Manchester. All easy enough.

Great, thanks. We're coming in at 8:45 and the Ryanair is 10:40 I think so should be fine. I think I might move my business to Dublin and live there, the flights are just so cheap it's unreal.

Not just Dublin, many are using other places like Oslo. Prices are crazy from UK especially for business class. Just now people are booking United business class for £650 from Dublin in August, cheaper than economy from UK.

This is exactly how were thinking of travelling in September, we live in Huntingdon so around an hour and half from Heathrow.
However we've decided to try and do the trip as cheap as possible now.
And then try for the business class flights for may 2017 for our twins 12th bday.
They have always asked if they could fly in the lie down seats and we would absolutely love to surprise them, when there are 5 flying however it majorly adds up.

To London 75. As Wayneg has pointed out

Please note that Ryanair has a different Luggage weight allowance than AA.

Note your flight with Ryanair arrives & departs from different terminals .. than AA . ( Max 15 min walk )

Thanks Woodview, we've booked 1x15kg + 2x20kg bags on the way out and 4x20kg bags on the way home! We'll try to look all innocent as we come through customs!!! Good to know about the terminals, I'm not looking forward to that bit as the kids will be tired and whiney but they love the beds even more than us so hopefully they'll let me off.

We saw the United flights and nearly went with them to save the money but have over 120,000 AA miles already so it was worth the extra to top those miles up to nearly 200,000 so we can fly one leg for free next year. I keep swearing we'll have a break from Florida and we never do. The bargains keep dragging me back, we're also staying at Grand Floridian for the fortnight on the travel agency deal so it's going to be a pretty special trip!

There are some good deals using the starting point as Brussels and Amsterdam too.
