Booked Disney Visa deal without insert!

I think they care...at least Disney should care esp after all the bad things and bad press that have happened lately.

I wonder if that's why the offer isn't there anymore...Bank One and WDW made people mad and they were getting complaints.

Just a thought.

I've already e-mailed Bank One; I've called Disney and got the e-mail address to complain. I guess that's next.

At least it'll make me feel better to let them know that as an existing customer I want to be treated as well as potential customers.

I have been a Disney Day One Visa card holder and I am going to complain to both Bank One and Disney about this because I was planning a trip for the summer. I will post if I get replies.

i believe the 7 for 4 info everyone is looking for is ****
good luck! and i found this by searching the boards.....but you do need a b.o. visa....not just any visa...

Edited by a moderator to remove code.

That code is the Bankone new card holders code I just called Disney Back after not knowing anything about it this morning it now seems to have appeared from nowhere. Bankone is still claiming that they know nothing about it.

Again, I remind you please DO NOT to post the code on this board! It has not been determined that this code can be used by everyone. If you are meant to use the code, Disney and Bank One will let you know!

I still do not know if this is for ALL new cardholders or just specfic people! I got 2 conflicting answers from Bank One and Disney keeps referring me to them. Ok, if existing cardholders cannot get it...that is clear enough. But it is outrageous for only a select # of new cardholders to be offered such a good package. I just wish Bank One would get their stories straight!

I just wanted to point out that discounts are offered ALL THE TIME to only a select group of people. It's target marketing and seeing the results that they get by marketing certain offers to certain select groups helps them to develop marketing plans to put in place for everyone. The internet has made target marketing much more difficult with people sharing codes. A great example of this was the room only discount code that was relased in a Spanish magazine. Their marketing department chose to releast that code only in select Spanish language publications for a reason, to test the target market of thos publications. With the all the boards and "bugeting" web sites out there, that code was shared with the world and as a result, they couldn't determine how marketing to that population worked. (I am NOT saying it was wrong for anyone here to use that code or wrong to have shared it, just pointing out why it was only released to a certain market). When they realized that releasing codes in publications and things like that couldn't achieve the same results, they went to postcards and emailing codes to select groups. They were then better able to control who used those codes. One of 2 things is happening here, they are either offering this package only to those who recieve and application with the insert as a combo target marketing and to generate new Disney Visa customers or they are offering it to all new customers just to generate new customers. Either way it's not the first time they have done something like this and it won't be the last.

I understand that people are upset b/c Disney Visa hasn't offered the plans that you had hoped but that is a risk you take. We took the same risk with buying APs and hoping for AP codes. We got tired of waiting and wondering and ended up renting DVC points. Unfortunately there is not a plan that guarantees discounts anymore. :( I could say I am disappointed that even if this package is opened to all Disney Visa members or all Visa card holders PERIOD (or heck, even if it is a public deal offered again to everyone and their brother!) because my family has APs so we do not benefit from package deals but, that's the risk you take.

I just called the Bank One application Center (#from Disney site) I asked if the were offering a Visa Dream Maker Package to new members and she asked for my zip code. She then told me my area was not included and I would have to call Disney about this deal. That makes me believe that like others have said its to a specific target group not all "new" members. I still may apply and try to see what happens. We are going in August no matter what but a better deal means better accomadations for us.:earsgirl:

That's very interesting. I wonder if that's why the guy on the phone told me to apply for another card in my name only and not DH's? I wish I knew someone at Disney or Bank One to ask them what their marketing strategy was? I'm very curious at this point.

I read on another board that a person who booked the Visa Deal on 2/17 was told to bring her letter and the code with her for check-in.

I was told the same thing last spring when I had a postcard code.

I'd be cautious posting castmember names who helped you use a code you aren't entitled to. We know Disney management has lurked on these boards in the past - and you wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble.

I can't see how they can change my reservation or rate.

Well. they can. It doesn't matter what method you used to get the rate, you didn't meet the requirements to get it. After all, you were fully aware that you didn't meet those requirements so I'm wondering why you tried to get the deal at all?

There was a lot of confusion in the first two days though and some people called and they checked with Bank One and then were given the deal. Bank One still isn't giving out the same answers each time and Disney doesn't either. One CM even said it was open to all card holders.

Then, the complaint should be that neither Disney or BankOne adequately trains their staff to handle the influx of people trying to get a discount they know they're not entitled to.

All I can say is remember Disneystore.com.....;)

If Marie 32 was like me, I called to see if there were any specials available to me when I heard people were getting the 7 for 4 package deal. It was not clear to me at that time that it was onyl for certain people so I called to see Ii something was available for me. I did not have a code but simply asked if there is a special for Disney Visa card holders. The CM pulled up the deal. I specifically asked if I needed a code or anything at check-in to get the deal. Again, answer was no! "All you need is your family to arrive with smiles!" As I started reading the boards, I realized I may have been given this offer in error as I don't think I would be considered a new Visa member (although someone posted yesterday that she called and qualified with the last 4 digits of her credit card and she has been a Visa memebr for about 1 year). I called this again this morning - not because I was afraid I was going to get caught! I called because I am uncomfortable with any kind of subterfuge. This morning, I specifically asked the CM if I qualified for this special package. She provided a name for it that I will not post here and said I was qualified and I didn't need to provide anyting at check-in. She even mentioned that this was a great deal and that I should have my "friends cash in on it!"
Disney obviously has to get their ducks in line if I really shouldn't be qualifiying for this. I will probably watch for other specials and transfer my reservation to that so I don't have to deal with this. Planning my Disney vacation is supposed to be a pleasant experience!

Yikes! I thought I proofread my post above. Sorry about my spelling errors! That's what happens when you have a secretary that does most of your typing!

You did exactly what I would have done. I would have gotten the name of the CM I spoke with just in case there was a problem in the future. Being up front and asking questions is the best thing to do. I just wouldn't be comfortable sort of sliding in under the radar and apparently neither are you.

I don't know what discount you got, and you're very smart for not saying it here, but apparently since the CM double checked, I would think you'd be fine.

Where I see a problem is for those who didn't question the rate they got, knowing that they hadn't applied for the DV, didn't have a new DV and didn't get the mail offer. Again, Disney may do nothing and it may work for them. I just wouldn't take that chance if it were me.

Edited to add.....

.

"I called 5 times today. Each CM said I needed to be on the marketing list and checked me against that."

"it took me 4 calls to get a CM who would book it without the insert code"

" It figures that I get the all knowing, super thorough CM's the ONE time I am hoping for someone less informative"

When you look at what some have done to try and get the rate, it's obvious that at least for some, the CM's not being consistent really isn't the complaint.;) In fact, it's the consistency they're complaining about. Add to that the number of posts that have been deleted and the multiple times people have been warned to stop posting codes....I can see where there are going to be problems.
