Booked Disney Visa deal without insert!

I was not fully aware I didn't meet the requirements. And in answer to your question I tried to get the deal because at the time I didn't know if I was eligible or not. That is why I called.

Since you had posted this early on :

I just checked Bank one site. It is up and running and no
special offer. I emailed card member services and explained
my frustation and threatened to cancel my card if the offer
does not become available to all card holders.

It seemed that you were aware that you weren't eligible.

when I called Disney I didn't know if I was eligible or not.
Again, that is why I called. I just felt like I had to defend
myself from your accusations. Bank one was telling
people to call Disney. That is what I did. Now, just leave it
alone and move on.

No need to get snippy....but I'll leave it alone when I choose, not when you tell me to.

The fact is that if a reservation is made with an invalid code, they have the right to cancel the reservation.

Sorry if you don't like that.

Yesterday Bank One sent me an empty envelope (the glue didn't stay sealed) so, who knows, maybe it was my offer. (We wouldn't use it anyway - DVC members with no plans to go to Disney "off our schedule.") But given this, I don't see the harm in calling to ask whether you are qualified - even if you don't have the code. It isn't showing up for me on the website. Who knows what was in the envelope (probably a special offer for a Disney collectible I don't want to dust).

We got one of those empty envelopes last week too. I think a lot of people did, but I have no idea what was in it.

I see no problem with calling and checking either. I would just want to make darn sure that what they gave me was correct, especially when I didn't seem to meet any of the requirements to qualify. What I disagree with are the multiple attempts to get a CM to make a mistake.

How come one certain poster has all their posts deleted? I don't understand. Were they told to? Was there info in the post that was a no no? HELP!??

They deleted their own posts and I don't know why. I do know the moderators edited quite a few posts because people were posting codes that weren't meant to be used by the general public.

Thanks Peachgirl!

Kind of interesting that the deleted posts are by someone who registered the day the thread started, posted 9 times and only to that thread. I think they may have been scared off by the strong feelings expressed on both sides. I can't recall what they had said in any of their posts.

According to Bank One, the empty envelopes are the latest newsletter, not this offer.

I just received a reply from my e-mail to Bank One. They said a spring vacation offer would be in the new Spring Newsletter. No idea what it is, though.

I applied for a new card on 2/15 and called the automated system and was approved. I waited to talk with a rep and he said those applying between 2/5 and 3/31 qualify for the 7 nights for the price of 4, etc.

I am waiting for the paperwork to arrive now.

I did not receive a mailing either.

I got the empty envelope last week as well.

So I guess it wasn't the offer. Oh well

I have checked several boards about this topic and many people were posting that they were told that the discount was available to everyone. A few people have reported getting the discount with the CM having full knowledge that they were day one cardmembers. The only criteria appeared to be your zip code. When I called with the code that was reported here I told the cast member that I had not received an offer but that I heard about it. She said that I was declined because of the area in which I live, not because I am a day one cardmember. There was a great deal of confusion about this offer and I still tend to think that it was not only intended for new cardmembers. If that was the case, it would make no sense that some "old cardholders" booked the package with the verification process.

There's a newsletter? I've never seen one.

You should call Bank One about that. Maybe they don't have your address right? Or maybe you marked some kind of "do not mail" thing?

I've had the Disney Visa since April 2003 and I've never received a newsletter. Guess I'd better make a call!

I was the one who deleted all my threads, on my own, because of all the strong feelings! I got the deal, did not "pull any tricks on a CM, or call 100 times in order to find someone to book it." A poster on here said earlier last week that she talked to a CM who said the disney was going to "open the floodgates on Sun and offer the deal to everyone". I asked if a Visa dreamaker package was available, and the CM booked it. No trickery, no trying to steal a deal from anyone else, etc. I was so excited that I immediately registered so I could post that they were offering the deal to everyone! That was the biggest mistake of my life.

In the last three days I have never witnessed a more bitter, petty group of individuals than some of those on these boards. They are so jealous that some people got something they didn't, although if you go back, many of the individuals are the same ones who called themselves "over and over", but were repeatedly turned down. I don't know what Disney's criteria was, or still is, but I am sorry to all of you that I offended that they booked my vacation! I deleted all my posts as I want no active part of this board, and will return to just lurking around as a browser. I agree with the one poster above who stated that "planning a vacation was supposed to be fun", and these boards have definitely put a damper on it recently. I have heard stories of people complaining to CM's that other people's tables got more attention at a character breakfast than their tables, and I often wondered what kind of people would judge their vacation, what is supposedly the happiest time of your life, by how much more fun the next table was having: well I answered my question, I have found some here. And the final straw is when a poster states that she did not know if she was eligible, and then another poster copies a previous post to "prove" that she knew she was not eligible. I thought we were all adults here, obviously not. Just had to clear up why my posts were self-deleted.

I don't blame you for deleting your posts. Things definitely got insulting very quickly on several threads regarding this topic. I am sure it was not the welcome you expected. It is a shame that your first experience here had to be so negative. Please do not feel that you have to explain anything to anyone.

Gee, I guess that would be me...Although, let me make it perfectly clear, I have not called Disney once about this offer.

I don't see the offense in clearing up why I thought something. I thought the person I was posting to was aware of their eligibility, or lack thereof. I simply posted what they had said that made me think that.

I never said I was trying to prove anything. I simply pointed out what the person had said that led me to believe what I did.

Disagreement doesn't translate into insults. Why you feel the need to be insulting is beyond me, as you said I thought we were all adults here. The only name calling on this entire thread has been done by only one person....you.
