We requested a table for 2 while on the phone to dcl paying off the balance they just added it to our booking.

wow now i'm worried there will be too much food :rotfl2: although that dessert buffet sounds very tempting :cloud9:

i'm off to have a look at the trip reports... popcorn::

thanks for all your help so far everyone. i am much calmer now..
only 1 more question for the time being... what is a fish extender?? :confused3:confused3

what is a fish extender?? :confused3:confused3

Outside each stateroom door is a fish. If you join a fish extender exchange then you hang some sort of bag/holder from your fish and then people put little gifts in it and you would go and put little gifts in theirs.

If DH gets a new job soon we are going to book a med cruise this summer.

I loved our honeymoon cruise.

Palo is wonderful!

ahh, thank you.

I'll pop over to my cruise thread and see if there is an exchange going on that sounds fun :goodvibes

We were on the last Med cruise of the season in September and absolutely loved it. This was our second Disney cruise, and whilst we weren't 100% convinced about cruising, the med cruise totally won us over :cheer2:

If this is your first cruise, then the Med is ideal, as it is more like a portable hotel as you have so many shore days. The Disney service is fantastic, and lots of people who were regular cruisers said that the Disney service was way above most other cruise companies.

Dining - For formal night, people do tend to dress up, but a tux is certainly not a necessity, and if you don't fancy dressing up at all there is always the buffet or room service. There was a pirate night where it is optional to dress up. You can request a table for yourselves, we didn't and thoroughly enjoyed the company of who wer were sat with, and even met up with them a few weeks later in Florida. Palos brunch is a must!

Ports - The ports are all fantastic:yay: In just a few days we totally fell in love with Italy, and the Amalfi coast is amazing. We did a mixture of Disney port adventures and self organised, with some as a result of joining up with people on this forum. The Disney tours are good, but tend to be with a large group of people. My favourite tours tended to be those organised ourselves as you had a maximum group of about 8 and it was far more personal and you get a better insight into the area. Plus they normally worked out cheaper:banana:

You will have a fantastic time. Its a fantastic ship, with fantastic service, amazing food, and great ports of call. An all round winner:yay:

Tigger, your cruise sounds lovely :goodvibes
We have been to the Amalfi coast - we had a week in Sorrento in 2009 and loved it. I feel pretty confident about Naples. DH would like to visit the museum in naples where the things from Pompeii are displayed. I would like to get the boat over to positano or Amalfi.

We also visited Rome last year.

I think we really chose this cruise because we have been to some of the ports before and so it wouldnt be too bad if we don't spend a lot of time there.

Wayne, love your FE :thumbsup2

Hi

There is loads of info here on cruising with Disney. http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=124

Check out the Dibb big meet for 20/08/10 thread, the first page has info about port trips.

This TR has inspired me to go it alone, at some of the ports. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2602433

This one is all food porn onboard http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2602433

Hope these help. Somewhere on here or on the dibb, there is someones TR done in Video form, and its really good, they also did there own trips DIY

I wonder if I can get rid of my DS for an hour while we go and try out Palo. I'm going to try and pursade him to go to the kids club.

Hi Wendy,

We did a similar thing last year and went on the 11-night Med Cruise in May 2010. It was absolutely fantastic! We organised our own things at most of the ports.

We did a Youtube Video Trip Report which covered the whole trip which should give you a much better idea of what to expect. The link is HERE

I'm sure you will absolutely LOVE it!

We did a Med cruise in 2008 and did all the ports under our own steam and had a lot of fun.

Not sure what your itinerary is but here is a link to our trip report http://www.kevinstringer.co.uk/med%20cruise%202008/aughome.htm

We had an amazing time - such a great way of seeing lots of different places and not having to unpack

I am sure you will love it

Tammy
