This past OCT we had 3 rooms with 1 reservation number. The CM I talked to today said they had problems with this system and went back to the old way. They now give a number for each ressie like they did before. I just booked our OCT 2012 trip at 9am today NOV 7 and had to book all 8 rooms one at a time ,hoping they didn't run out of standard studios. In all it took 25 minutes and I got 1 (2- bed) standard and 7 standard studios at BWV. They can't hold rooms and then add the names, you need to give a name for each room with address and phone # and then move to the next room. The CM I had (ROCK) was great and it went pretty easy since I had everything I needed for each room. I was a little scared I might lose out with so many rooms to book but it worked just fine.

If you need to book a lot of rooms just have all your info in front of you . It will make it easy on both you and the CM.:goodvibes

OP, I hope you took the post-reservation review. A CM that does this much for you could use the review. If you didn't call back and ask for a supervisor to let Disney know how much the CM did for you. Also, add this to the Thank You thread.

Thanks for the update. I had heard that the one travel plan really made it difficult to coordinate with the resort system.

Same thing happened when I booked my August 2012 trip--3 rooms, 3 different reservation numbers.

Glad you got what you wanted. I get to call in 13 days to book my October 2012 F & W adult only trip!!!

Wow, that's alot of rooms and alot of POINTs. Hope you saved one for me. I will be calling on Sunday the 13th! I only need one room - standard view studio.

OP, congrats on getting all those rooms! I would have been a wreck had I been in your shoes.
Regarding the decision to go back to separate reservation numbers: I am glad they did this. During our recent trip our DME tags and departure info were all messed up because multiple rooms were under one number.

Hmmm. Not to spark a segmenting meal plan debate, but I wonder if this means that some people you travel with can have the dining plan while others don't as long as they are in a different room and thus a different reservation number? Thoughts?

Thanks for the info!

As far as I know, people in separate rooms have always been able to book their own dining plan regardless of their reservation number. Now, if you book a 2 BR, everyone in the 2BR must be on the same plan (you can't break it into a 1BR and studio unless you book it that way). But in the case of the OP, his guests in the different studios can book the various DDPs to their hearts' content.

Rock was my CM on Sunday when I had 4 things to do, and he took great care of me too!:thumbsup2

Like jekjones1558 we had lots of problems with the "many rooms, one reservation number" during our September stay. I'm glad they are fixing that.

This past stay (October) we had three studios at BCV. Two studios were under one reservation. There was such a mess with everything - it was actually funny after a while.

Of course, and that's as it should be, IMO.

We are checking out of a Standard view studio on the 13th. Maybe you can snag "our" room! -- Suzanne

I had the CM named Rock when I booked our Xmas trip in January 2010. He was awesome.

:rotfl2: Leave the light on for me. I just called -- took a total of 3 minutes -- and got my standard studio! Now I just need to add days to it. I'm booking for 14 nights, but, of course, I could only do 7 nights for my first call.

It seems that they are also trying to "undo" the mulitple rooms under one number reservations that are left. I called one day last week to add DME info and to add a request.

The CM noted that since we had two rooms booked and wanted to be close together, we should have a travel with number attached to our reservation.

She asked to put me on hold a moment while she got a supervisor to take care of it. When she came back on, she had a new reservation number for me for the one room. (I've since checked on DVCmember.com and both reservations are there, so all is as it should be.)

I hope there are no issues with our dining plan though ... we all want the DP for the whole time we are there, so when I booked the rooms I kept all of us in the 2BR for the entire time even though my parents are moving into a studio after the first night.

What do you mean by they cant hold room and then add the names, ect? Cant you put the rooms in your name and change later? That is how I use to do it.

they can't hold more than 1 room at once till you book it with a name, then you can do the next one and so on.

they won't hold all the rooms you want (say 8 like mine) and do all the names at once. That wouldn't be fair to others trying to book and I agree as long as all CM's are doing it this way.:goodvibes
