Booked at CBR but having second thoughts... Pop maybe?

The walks to the main pool/food court seem to get greatly exaggerated here on the DIS for some reason. The walk will not be bad at all....plus, it is in a beautiful atmosphere where you don't mind the stroll at all. If you can get a rooom in Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51, it will be 5 minutes tops at a liesurely pace. Stick with CBR, you'll love it.

I agree!! We have stayed at this resort 4x before, once even in the pirate rooms and have never had any issues with walking, even from the pirate rooms it was a 6-8 min walk. Everyone's different , but I def think people make it out way worse then it is!!

We stayed at POFQ last year and loved it but I wanted to stay somewhere different and loved the feel of a moderate!! I'm just not crazy or excited about CBR like I was when we booked POFQ!

I have read some TR's where POP pictures and reviews really catch my eye and obviously it is a lot cheaper too.

I would love to stay at POP and save some money but I am just scared we won't like it! :( Anyone give me any insight as to CBR or POP?

Our children will be 5 and 23 months when we go.

Thank you guys for your suggestions... :) I have thought about Riverside too OP. I just don't know what to do.. The thing that I am really liking about CBR is that pirate ship area playground.... I think my boys will love it!
Since you liked POFQ and you've thought about POR (POR is our favorite moderate) why not give POR a try? :confused3

I know you are wanting to save money but you can always book a preferred room at CBR to be closer to the food court and pool. I think it would be worth it to me. We are trying to decide between POR and CBR for our next trip. I think we will book preferred. We stayed at POP in 2010 2 weeks before Christmas. It seemed crowded to me, the food court, the buses and the store were packed and noisy :rolleyes2. I was not happy with the food court, the tables were dirty and it took forever getting our food. I didnt really enjoy our stay there. The buses were always packed, I had to stand every time but once. It may have been because it was so close to Christmas :confused3. We didnt get to swim because it was brrrr freezing outside.

Thank you guys! Hopefully I can request one of the above mentioned buildings! The grounds do look so pretty!! We have stayed at All stars and AOA and now that someone mentioned the noise, it was very noisy and I didn't notice that at POFQ...

Op- I would have loved to do POR but it has no more available rooms for our time period.

Thank you all. that is what I am afraid of about POP, just being chaotic and such and uncomfortable beds. POFQ was just so quiet and nice so maybe that is the difference between mods and values?

Yes, that is one of the differences, the mods are quieter, that and larger rooms, coffee maker, double sinks, etc.

We enjoyed CBR. It's a lovely resort.

I understand wanting to save some $$. We have booked at a value 3 times now, but have yet to stay value. Last minute I always get nervous and upgrade! I think I like the price of the values, but like the amenities at the Deluxe and Mods more:lmao:! If you are the type of Disney traveler that spends little time in your room, then the room becomes less important. If you are the type of traveler that will spend more time at the resort, then stick with CBR or switch to another mod that appeals to you. Currently we have booked our upcoming trip at the new AOA - litte mermaid rooms. However, as it gets closer to the trip, I keep thinking that maybe this trip we should stay at CBR:dance3:. I did tour PoP a few years ago and I know that lots of DIS folks love PoP, but I am glad we switched. It seemed very large and I can't quite put my finger on it, but it wasn't a resort that I could imagine staying at to have a relaxing trip. If you can afford the extra expense, I'd go with CBR - but do what you feel comfortable doing and have a great trip.

We have stayed at CBR. Nice, beautiful, quiet. You will not be disappointed. Depends on what you prefer. We like the "Disney" feel, so we opt for value, however my goal is to stay at a different resort each visit. We were upgraded to Beach club once, not impressed at all.
Have a great time!

I would book a preferred room so you're near the food court, pool and a bus stop. We did. I don't think it's that much more and you won't have to walk forever.

I would keep CBR over POP. It's a beautiful looking resort and probably a LOT quieter. I couldn't come back from a loud exhausting day at the parks and not feel like I can really relax.

Your signature shows you were only able to stay 2 nights last year. If that is what you are doing this time then stretch it to 3 and stay at Pop for the lower price. We have done both resorts and I feel your boys will enjoy Pop better. If you need some "quiet" time, request a standard room facing the lake. Worked out great for us earlier this month.

If you've already booked CBR, definitely call Disney and ask to have a room request added to your reservation info. I would REALLY recommend that you request "first floor in buildings 45 or 46 or 51." Sleeping 4 year olds can be quite heavy to carry up the stairs and those buildings are so close to being preferred areas yet are at standard prices! ::yes::

I very much agree. We stayed at CBR in January and POP a few years ago...POP's theme is fun but we wouldn't do it again. We went during value season so the parks were nearly dead but POP was always crazy and full and it was so hard to remotely wind down. Plus, we had a LONGER walk to the main food court when we stayed at POP than at CBR. I just love CBR overall and my kids did too (they were 1 and 4 when we stayed). Our bus stop was also a 5 minute walk tops. I honestly don't have a single complaint about CBR. In fact we're thinking about changing our November trip to a split stay just so we can try a new resort...POR but still go back to our new fav CBR.

Happy planning either way and have fun!

Thanks guys.. I think I am going to stick with CBR. We always used to stay value bc of the value, obviously but even just that one night at POFQ was so nice, just quiet and relaxed and no hustle and bustle. :)

Thank you for the suggestions on what to put it my request...

OP- We stayed four nights last time. We took my mom who was battling cancer ( she passed away last month).. We booked POFQ and when we got there and stayed one night, ,we just couldn't do it with 3 adults and 2 children so got a suite at AOA. Wish we could stay there again but free dining is blacked out. :(

CBR CBR CBR:thumbsup2 We have enjoyed our stays at both resorts but CBR has my vote! Never had any issues..beautiful and fun:yay:
