We stayed at POFQ last year and loved it but I wanted to stay somewhere different and loved the feel of a moderate!! I'm just not crazy or excited about CBR like I was when we booked POFQ!

I have read some TR's where POP pictures and reviews really catch my eye and obviously it is a lot cheaper too.

I would love to stay at POP and save some money but I am just scared we won't like it! :( Anyone give me any insight as to CBR or POP?

Our children will be 5 and 23 months when we go.

Oh keep CBR - it's absolutely a beautiful resort!!

I recommend you request Jamaica building 45 or 46, first floor. :thumbsup2 It's a 5-7 minute walk to the main building/pool, a 3 minute walk in the other direction to the bus stop, and there's a quiet pool and laundry area within 2 minutes of your room. Truly - it's a SUPER resort.

If you live the feel of a moderate, I'd stick to that. CBR grounds are beautiful, love the hammocks on the beach. They have playgrounds for the kids at each beach too.
POFQ rooms had been recently refurbed, CBR hasn't yet, it's the last moderate that still has double beds. I expect they may be announcing CBR refurb to start soon?
All the other mods have been. So what about POR? We love the mansions. Acadian or Magnolia terrace are well located. Or CSR? Or return to POFQ?

My family likes POP way more than CBR. CBR was our least favorite resort. I have not stayed at POFQ, but have visited and I can tell you that there are some pretty notable differences between POFQ and CBR. 1st of all being the size...CBR is really large. DH and I are two healthy and active adults, however, with two littles (as we have) after a day of walking in the parks, having to walk 10 minutes both ways to go fill a mug at OPR or grab a snack is just cumbersome. Plus, having those internal bus stops makes it a wee bit tortuous to use the bus at this resort (and I am a person who does not mind the buses at all)

But, at POP, you get your own bus. The resort is compact and the theming is awesome for small kids. Between POP and CBR, you are getting full size beds and not queens either way, so POP wins there!

If we were chosing between the two again, I would chose POP every time. Just my $.02 :goodvibes

Thank you guys for your suggestions... :) I have thought about Riverside too OP. I just don't know what to do.. The thing that I am really liking about CBR is that pirate ship area playground.... I think my boys will love it!

I love both pop and CBR. For kids, pop is a great resort, it has fun theming, one bus stop and it makes the kids feel they are in Disney.

CBR to me is more relaxed and fun for the adults. Kids will love the main pool though.

I think either is a good choice but if you really want to save money stay at pop. You could always stop in at CBR to see if its something you'd like for a future stay.

I would vote for CBR , our DD (now 5yrs old) has stayed here 3x before and absolutely loves the pirate ship splash area!! The resort is beautiful, we love the tropical landscaping, beaches w/ hammocks, main pool area with water slides, food court & gift shop.

Thanks for your responses.... I am leaning more towards sticking with CBR but just the saving $ part, I keep coming back too. :(

Another vote for CBR! We stayed there in September 2012 and loved it, we were fortunate enough to score a room in Jamaica 46. Got just over a week before we check in for our second stay. Can't wait!

DH and I were in the same situation a few weeks ago. We booked CBR and were having second thoughts. We have a DD (28 mos) and DS (17 mos) and didn't know if CBR would appeal to them since it doesn't scream Disney. So we opted to change to Pop. We stayed there in 2009 and really liked it. We're now super excited about our trip. Another factor that we considered was Pop's access to Art of Animation via the bridge. We figured we'd spend an evening exploring all it has to offer one evening, which I'm sure the kids will love. Just my thoughts on it.

We usually stay at CBR. Whole family loves it. We tried POP for money reasons. We all wanted to switch so bad. I almost wanted to cry the first few days. NEVER again!! Chaotic!! Food court super crowded. Everyone woke up with backaches. beds were terrible. I could hear the conversation in the next room while brushing my teeth. Our 2 year loves the pool at CBR but found it boring at POP as not much to do at that age. Like the zero entry pool at CBR along with the pirate pool.

Thank you all. that is what I am afraid of about POP, just being chaotic and such and uncomfortable beds. POFQ was just so quiet and nice so maybe that is the difference between mods and values?

We're taking our first trip this fall and staying at CBR. The pirate ship area playground was the tipping point for me, it looks so fun! POP doesn't really appeal to me, my value choice would have been ASMo.

I have to admit, we stayed there many years ago during the pool refurb, and for whatever reason, I felt like I had to walk miles to get to the food court. I think they gave me a room on the Island of New Jersey... sheesh.. that being said we haven't gone back to CBR.

I guess you are in agreeance with me about the pirate ship.. :) That is what made me want to stay with my boys.... They can play and I don't have to be all up on them like in a pool!

Exactly!! So much more relaxing and fun for all of us.

The walks to the main pool/food court seem to get greatly exaggerated here on the DIS for some reason. The walk will not be bad at all....plus, it is in a beautiful atmosphere where you don't mind the stroll at all. If you can get a rooom in Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51, it will be 5 minutes tops at a liesurely pace. Stick with CBR, you'll love it.

CBR is a beautiful resort! We don't find it the least bit unmanageable size wise. The pool will be PERFECT for your kids. Its got some of the lovliest grounds of any resort.

Pop is fun, but we way prefer the calm and tranquility of the mods.

Stick with CBR!!

I don't think anyone minds a stroll...isn't Disney one GIANT stroll?

It seemed like after I went to refill our mugs, I had to head back to the food court as soon as I got back to my room.
:cool1:

Maybe the mid-summer heat skewed my perception....

I think we were in Aruba and I remember being near hammocks....
