Just booked our 2014 trip :cool1:

We have always gone October so this will be our first August trip as eldest daughter starts high school a couple of days after we get back!

I've gone for last 2 weeks of August after reading lots of advise on here so I just hope I can cope with the weather and queues!

We're going back to the Beach Club as we stayed there last year and absolutely loved it - Plus we can spend lots of afternoons cooling down in Stormalong Bay!

Still have this years trip to do in October stopping at OKW for the first time but I always feel I enjoy my trips so much more knowing we're already booked to go again - makes it so much more relaxing!

August is absolutely lovely,no problems at all.
Just remember deodorant, water, sunscreen and air con.:cool1:

Have great trips, this year and next.

I told my dh several years ago,I was not leaving wdw unless we already had another trip booked.:lmao:

I'm not great in the heat and August is my favourite time to go! Its fine as long as you make use of the pool, air con etc whenever you can. I love the Beach Club, am very jealous!! :yay::yay::yay:

We're going at the exact same time, staying at the YC.We're taking the plunge for August for the same reason.See you at SAB ;-)

I remember on our first visit in August (2005!!) that DW was worried about coping with the heat - we all managed fine, just made sure we kept drinking plenty of water and kept nipping into the air conditioning in shops, shows or restaurants.

One thing that we do keep in mind in August is that mid-afternoon usually sees some short but heavy showers (or storms), so if planning on visiting a water park, get there early so that by mid-afternoon you should be ready to leave.

Yay :)

Agree it makes it slightly easier to leave knowing you are booked to go back.

And as of last night, we have taken the plunge and also booked for next August at OKW :)

As with our previous August visits, we will be using a combination of the Busy Days Guides and Crowd Calendars to work out the best (i.e. least busy) park to visit on any day, which will to some degree influence where we make our dining reservations.

Thanks to these guides and making good use of Fastpasses and the occasional morning Extra Magic Hours, we have very rarely waited for more than 20 minutes for any ride in Disney. Last year, we managed to ride Toy Story Mania three times in one day, on another occasions we were still obtaining Fastpasses in Magic Kingdom well into the evening for return times within the hour, and in AK we managed three rides on Everest within our first hour.

Woohoo great news guys and slightly jealous of you decisive people, ill be joining you as soon as I make some decisions

Did you book packages or just the hotel and booking flights later?

Did you book packages or just the hotel and booking flights later?

Just the hotel/ticket/free DDP package. We have booked 13 nights and are planning on a couple of nights at Universal before Disney, so we have a bit of leeway with flights. Last time we went (August 2010) we again booked our accommodation well in advancve of flights coming on sale, and Disney were excellent in moving our stay by a couple of days to tie in with flights.
