I hate it! For the 4th year running (and this year I am totally unprepared!)
we need to dress our children as book characters at school tomorrow!

Any ideas that involve no work on my part! ha ha :rotfl:
we have a peter pan costume and a ninja costume...

Ive been trying to persuade him to go as one of the secret seven or christopher robin...

I havent got a harry potter costume or else that would work...

any other ideas that arent too difficult.

We did cat in the hat first year... i guess we could do that again if i had to..

my ds usually goes as peter pan :thumbsup2 dd goes as alice in wonderland.
im not creative tho so i hate these things :)

If you can get together with friends Famous Five is very easy as long as you don't choose to be Timmy the dog!

Or Horrid Henry?

DS one year was a dalmation - dressed in white with paper spots & a boneo round his neck!

I dressed DS as Oliver Twist one year. I unpicked the collar from one of DH's old shirts to make it collarless, rolled up the sleeves, added a waistcoat, knotted a scarf around his neck, tucked dark trousers into footie socks so they looked like knickerbockers and borrowed a cap from someone. It actually looked quite good and I used it again the following year on Victorian Day :rolleyes1 ...

Thank goodness for Harry Potter cloaks, I know my girls wore them for a couple of years on Book Day. Good luck, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to making outfits, sorry :)

I'm not very imaginative either!

My DD went as a dalmation too. She wore black trackies, a white T shirt that I drew spots on with a permanent marker and I made a tail by plaiting some black tights together. Then we made some ears out of cardboard and stuck them on a hairband.

Good luck :goodvibes

DD went as Mulan once in a japanese kimono. DS went as Harry Potter, Capt Jack Sparrow and Professor Remus Lupin from Harry Potter. (our primary school seemed to extend the theme to include films as well as books, so that made it easier!). What did you decide in the end?

im still no further forward! But thanks for your replies.
MIght have to be peter pan again.. not feeling well today and cant be bothered to do anything creative.
What a terrible mother i am! :)

No ideas here; better stick with buying a harry potter cloak..

Once when I went to a Harry Potter premire with my sister's old primary school, and they had a costume competition. Someone's kid came in as a broom. :lmao:

How about Little red riding hood, Queen of hearts from Alice in wonderland, Dorothy, Tin Man, the Lion from Wizard of Oz. Andy pandy, Lou Lou. Pinnochio with a wine cork as his nose?

There are so many to choose from. DD went as andy pandy last year. She will be missing out this year as its on friday and we will be on the plane :teeth:

Harry Potter in jeans and hoodie with ruffled hair and an improvised scar and glasses with no lenses in - that's one we like! Horrid Henry, Kipper from magic key books - all involve jeans, trainers and any top! Great!
Hermione in jeans and pink top is a good one too! LOL! Also for girls - any generic fairy outfit.
We've also been someone from Lord of the Rings, James Bond (blazer jacket and school trousers!), and most of the boys in our school extend the character meaning to Boro players!

Good Luck!

Lynn

i decided to work it back the other way.. we had a orange and black ninja costume.. so I searched amazon for ninja in childrens books and found..

the ginger ninja (a ginger cat).. perfect! We have a ginger cat anyway.. so DS was happy to go as that.. and ginger ninja sounds just about right for him.

thanks for your great suggestions! had i been feeling better today i might have taken you up on one..

Well done on being so inventive and hope you are feeling better
