Okay all you expert hoteliers, does it make a difference if you book through the Loews web site or UO web site? If I book through UO web site using AAA discount, do I still get the welcome amenities? I'm only a Loews First Blue member.
When it comes to Loews Blue benefits, it really does not matter if you book through Loews or Universal sites (Gold or Platinum would). The only difference would be calling Loews would charge you a deposit and using Universal would not charge you a deposit. At least this has been my experience. Since currently, AAA is a qualifying stay, I don't see why you would not receive the welcome ammenities and the best part is this stay will count toward getting future upgrade to Gold status. I'm sure others can add to what I have said or make any corrections. Enjoy your stay.
I called Universal directly and booked my room through them using my AAA discount and was told I wouldn't be entitled to my welcome amenities through Loews First when using AAA. But I haven't stayed there yet, so I can't tell you for sure.

Have you tried calling Loews First? From what I have heard on these boards, only those using rack rate and AAA are qualifying stays. Maybe the US employee was misinformed. Try giving Loews a direct call to get the official answer and then please post in this thread with your findings. The hotel is a Loews hotel. It just happens to be on Universal property.
