Hello
Just wondering everyones thoughts on this? It doesn't seem like you spend any more for an agent who can keep an eye on deals for you. The one thing I like with Disney a person could make mutiple payments to them versus a travel agent with a deposit and then just balance due. Any help is appreciated. Why I am at, what does everyone think about universal, oldest son kinda wants to go, but then we would end up renting a car etc etc plus I just love disney magic.

We had our very first trip back in April and I booked directly through Disney. They have great customer service and really roll out the red carpet for you. I called rather than used the internet and each CM that I talked to really went out of the way to make sure I got what I asked for.
We initially had just booked a package without Dining and then a few weeks before our trip I was able to add the dining plan on. Not sure I would have got that kind of service through an agent.

As far as Universal goes - we've never been but I do know people that visit both parks and make it work. We stayed on the resort and used the Disney transportation system so going off the resort was not an option for us unless we wanted to spend extra on a rental. There is so much to do at Disney I couldn't see leaving.

In fact - now I have a hard time going to other parks becuase I instantly compare to Disney and am just not as happy. There is just something about the Magic.

I've never booked directly through Disney but my sister has an has no problems. For this trip both she and I booked through smallworldvacations.com and have been EXTREMELY pleased. They're always very quick to get back to us if we have questions and rebooked our trips as soon as she heard of the new Buy 4 get 3 discount. Emailed us immediately with our savings. She will continue to monitor our reservations in the event another discoutn arises. You don't get that if you book directly with Disney.

I have no thoughts on Universal. Just that it would never occur to me to give up any of my Disney time to go to another park.:rotfl:

This time I booked through a local Disney Travel specialist. Why? Well, first off, I wanted to write a check. Long story. Second, by doing so I was supporting my local community. The cost to me was the same, but by booking with her the local economy got a push. I'm all for small businesses and will give them my money every time.

The thing is, all it meant was that she was the one who got on the phone to talk to Disney instead of me doing it from home!

I say, if you have a local Disney specialist, give them your business. Every penny kept in your community is helpful!

I used Dreams Unlimited travel. (Marla Hellwig) I thought the service was grreat! She made all my ADR's for me and sent me an itinerary before the trip. With dreams unlimited, you can make payments, like with Disney, and best of all...there was a rate discount that came out and she automatically credited my account!
