Book through French Disneyland website

I found a really good deal on the French Disneyland website, but it's not being offered on the US version of the site. Has anyone had luck booking through the French website? Or calling France and booking that way?

Not quite the same but similar -- When I went, I booked through the UK site even though I'm from the US. The UK site had much better prices. I had no issues and it never even came up as to where I was from and where I booked through, so I imagine it wouldn't be a problem for the French site either.

You probably already know this, but also be aware of international fees that may be on your credit card that may offset any savings :)

Thanks so much! I actually found the lower prices first on the UK site, but then looked at the french site and they are the same - 1,092, but the UK site is in pounds and the French site is in Euro. Since the dollar is stronger right now against the Euro, I'd like to book on the French site.

And, yes, I'm actually planning to get a new credit card to use for this trip... researching which is best right now. Any suggestions? Capital One Quicksilver is the one I'm thinking... cash back rewards (I already have a Disney Chase and a good travel rewards card - how I'm paying for my flights for this trip actually), so I'm thinking a cash back card will be good for international travel.

Not sure if you are booking a package or just tickets, but I found that the cheapest tickets right now are on 365ticketsusa.com I used them last year with no problem and we are heading there again this year. They are out of Chicago, so no international charges.

Anyone can book on any countries site wherever you are from. If you book online fill in your normal address but leave the country as the one whose deal you are booking (so in this case France) as it won't let you put in your own country without diverting you to that site. Nothing is posted to you so its ok

Alternatively you may also contact them by phone if you wish to give them your real address. As a bonus, booking by phone allows you to pay only a deposit.

Edited: removed “email” as it seems by fingers believe every “address” has to be “email address” :)

It's fine to book on any country's website (or call up and ask for that offer) it'll all go through fine, but your confirmation will be in that language and the details form you fill in on arrival will be that language too - just tell a CM and they'll go through it with you if you don't understand. :)

This may be a silly question...my husband and I are planning our first visit to DLP for the end of May! This is our first time out of the country as well, and I keep finding little things I didn't think about! For instance:

We at from the USA and planning on booking through the French website to save money. I hadn't thought about international charges applying when booking through the French site. I've seen recommendations of calling and requesting the French rate instead of doing the booking on the French website. Would doing so help us avoid the international fees, or would it not matter?

From what I understand, putting a charge on your card in a foreign currency is what triggers the international fees on credit cards. So if you were to call and they billed you in USD then you might be fine.

But you can always call your credit card/bank card company and ask for the particulars regarding your card when it comes to foreign transactions fees -- (and to double check what I just said about foreign fees triggers haha!). You may want to consider signing up for a card (if you are in a position to do so) that does not have any foreign transaction fees for this trip. Often you can book hotels and flights cheaper when you are booking through the home country's site and paying in their currency. This also applies to airfare.

For example, you can sometimes save if you book two one ways - each on the site of flight origin. Ex. I'm going from Miami to Paris. I book my MIA to CDG flight on the US site, then book my CDG to MIA flight on the French version of the site. This may be more trouble than it's worth to you, but I am a penny pinching traveler and sometimes this works in my favor. Not like hundreds of dollars per ticket, but I've found savings of maybe $75-$100 per ticket. Also this is all dependent of dates, etc. Sometimes it saves. Sometimes it doesn't.

That is EXACTLY what was confusing me...what exactly triggers that fee. I'm also all about penny pinching...no matter the hassle lol. We're looking into a card, but may not have time to book this part of the trip with it since the French deal ends the 14th. Thank you so much for your response! I'll definitely double check to see what it is about the charge that makes it qualify for the international fee just to be safe!

Take a look at the UK website, too. When I booked a couple weeks ago it was cheaper than the US and French sites because the pound is so low.

Check with your credit card what they charge as a Foreign Transaction Fee. It applies whenever you charge something in foreign currency. I think some cards may not charge a fee at all, all of mine were 1-3% of the transaction in US dollars.
