I plan on booking our SW flights for June as soon as they come out 11/19 (Cleveland or Akron to MCO). Does it make a difference if we do round trips vs two one-ways? Should I do the early bird check in just on the return portion since we'll be in the ship and may not have Internet access? Any tips are appreciated. We don't travel much.

we always book one way.. so much easier to rebook when the rates come down.. We book EB for our return trip so we don't have to worry about it especially when we are in one of the parks :)

I have always booked one way segments with SW and only added early bird to my return trip - that way I wouldn't have to watch the clock while having fun. BUT, lately SW is catching on to this and several of their recent sales have been valid only for roundtrip bookings. In fact, this is what I had to do to get their 40% off sale they had a few weeks ago - actually having to pay more for one segment to get the better price for the second segment; but still saving $50.

This is the way I book our travel with SW. I even nabbed A16 & A17 for our EB #'s for our trip home a couple weeks ago.

Hi Tara619 or should I say "Hi Neighbor"

You can book one ways on SWA. But keep in mind that SWA only has 2 or 3 flights a day out of Akron to MCO. 90% of the days they only offer 2 flights out of Akron which I hate because I like CAK better than CLE. On some times they only have 1 flight out of CAK!

Also keep in mind that if you plan to fly in and out of CAK if you experience any sort of flight delays or cancellations your flight options will be very limited since SWA does not have many flights into CAK. All flights out of CAK to MCO go thru MDW.

Unlike SWA flights from CLE to MCO that connect in either MDW, BWI or BNA. SWA can accommodate you more easily if you are on a CLE route.

Thanks for the info!! In 2009 we scored a direct flight out of CLE, but it doesn't look like we'll get a nonstop this time. CAK is only 10-15 minutes from my house, so it stinks that their schedule to MCO is so limited. Thanks for the insight. I'm leaning towards SW out of CLE unless if I can get a good AirTran price out of CAK.
