Book room rate then add extras later

If I book a room only rate online will I be able to add options like tickets and quick service dinning at a later date?
Will doing this re-price the room to the then currently available rate or will I still keep my original room rate?

Yes you can! I have room only right now and am planning on adding tickets and dining. I have already called and you have up to 3 days before arrival to do it!!!

Yes you can add tickets and dining to the discounted room rate....but just know that any money you have on your room only reservation will be refunded to you (which can take, I think, 10 business days) and you will need to make a new $200 deposit when you call for the package (or balance will need to be paid in full if you are within 45 days.). Disney will not transfer your money from the room only reservation to your new package reservation.

Thank you for that info. They did not tell me that, they did say would have to rebook, but said nothing about the having to wait for a refund and paying the $200. Good to know!!!

I switched from room only to a package last week, they charged a $200 deposit for the package and the refund for the room deposit was credited to my Visa in about 2 days.

Thanks alot!!! That's not bad 2 days!! I just figured they would do what they did when I upgraded my room. They would just charge me the difference. But charging $200 and then credit in a few days is ok too!

Was told the same thing by Disney-if/when free dining gets added, they book it as a package rather than room only, so have to start over!

Careful with availability. Once you have a %off room discount, if you wait too long to make into a package, you might loose the discount, Since it requires a rebooking.

You can always purchase tickets on site. The issue is dining.

So don't wait too long!

Also price both out. My friend went last year during free dining and booking the room at a discount and then paying for the dining plan worked out to be cheaper because with free dining you pay normal price for the room etc. something to think about
