I am planning our trip Nov. 29- Dec. 4th. I'm new to the whole discount codes and such. I really want to stay at the WL. Should I book my room only now or wait for codes to come out?

Also, if so, do I book standard view and hope to upgrade?

THanks for you advice.

I would book now to guarantee you have a room held and try to apply discounts later.

I would also go with standard view, which is the least expensive. You can always switch to a better view if there is a good discount code available closer to your dates.

I'd book now and hope for a code. I'm hearing that WL is already getting closed to being fully booked for various days in December. If you book now, you can always change your reservation later if a code comes out.

If WL gets full, because we have 3 families going, so we need 3 rooms, which would be your 2nd choice? AKL? I really didn't want to spend more than WL or AKL, so which moderate would you choose and why?

ash&abby'smom,

We're heading to Disney for the week as you! :bounce:

We really wanted to stay at the Swan - hoping for nurse/teacher rate to be released... but so far no discounts for our week. Right now the Swan & Dolphin are booked for Dec 4 & 5. I've read on the boards that WL is booked for Dec 4, but cancellations happen all the time. So you should probably be making resservations soon. You can always change them if a code comes out.

When we didn't get what we were hoping for, we did some more research. We decided to rent DVC points and stay at Old Key West. We'll be staying for 5 nights. Since there's 3 couples traveling in our group, we reserved a 2 bedroom unit with a full kithen and living room, and jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom for $1160! We also rented a studio unit for the third couple for $400 for the five nights. There's no tax when you rent points. It is actually less expensive than the "rack rate" at the moderates for value season, and you get way more space.

Staying at other DVC properties is a little more money, but maybe worth a thought.
