I've read the threads about booking a room at Comfort Suites and checking in and checking out at same time, just to gain access to Atlantis. I actually did this! Now, I'm wondering why not book at Atlantis directly?? I looked up the night when our cruise ship will be there and it's cheaper than Comfort Suites!!
Has anyone booked directly with Atlantis for the day- would love to hear your process. (Personal experiences please)

from what I see its a two night minimum and would cost more with taxes. I see you can save a little by buying thru an outside vendor other than DCL, anyone done this, or can you buy tickets at the gate

Yea, there's is a two night minimum.

I've heard other stay at other hotels in the area though. Anyone do this recently??

When we went there was no need to book a room. Atlantis offers a certain number of packages for offsite people (mostly cruise ship travelers) that gives them access to the facilities for the day. It includes a shuttle bus from the boat to the resort. Did they discontinue that?

Hate to be negative here, but I wish they cancelled it! Unfortunately, doesn't seem to be the case.

Why? Were you a guest at the Atlantis and annoyed by all the day-trippers? I could definitely see that being a problem. The day we went there were very few day trippers and no lines for anything, so we didn't get any dirty looks!

i went to Atlantis once or twice per year from 2001-2009. Then took a break and started back in 2013.

Most of the changes throughout the years have been great.. But after my last trip- the crowds were too much. The lines for slides too long.
I ended up sending a semi passive aggressive email stating those reasons as the cause of my choice to not return for quite some time.

I don't fault the cruise passengers or the Comfort Suites guests.. I solely fault Atlantis. In the years that they've been expanding the resort, they've added more people to an area which is now severely more congested than it was before.

I love the Royal Towers, it's always been one of my favorite places to stay. But for the prices they charge guests, and the resort fees we pay, etc, I feel that at this point they need to start limiting the day passes to provide their resort guests with a better experience. One that we used to have.

My email probably didn't make a bit of difference. And honestly my son loves Atlantis, he just turned 6 and I'm sure we will end up going back in the future, but not for quite awhile.

I was just looking on the Atlantis site today and noticed they are selling day passes for the water park. Not sure if transportation is included though.

I've read a lot on this also and I'm very torn! For my crew, 2 adults, 2 pre-teens, and 1 toddler, Comfort would totally be the way to go! I'd seriously spend $500 more if I booked the excursion through Disney. Take the toddler and 11 year old. At Atlantis, the 3 year old is free and the 11 year old is a child so her admission is $79.31. Disney wants to charge $124.75 for the 3 year old and adult $180 for the 11 year old!! That's a $225.44 savings on the two of them alone! If I book the Disney excursion, I'll spend $852.75 but includes lunch, transportation, and the security of Disney protecting our excursion of course. If I buy day passes at Atlantis, it will run my fam $439.64 but I'll have to spend $4 each for us both ways on shuttle, and buy lunch. At the Comfort Inn, I'll spend $279 for the room which comes to $374.22 after all their fees- which is still insanely cheaper. That would get me 4 passes to Atlantis and the toddler is still free admission of course. Seems like a no brainer- but is something goes wrong on the trip I'm out $374.22. I'd love any suggestions or experience! We aren't cruising until October so I have time, but I'm excited and can't stop prepping!! :)

We are going in May and I went for the day passes, which are a nice savings over dcl. Seems like a lot but my wife and I did take a trip to the hotel once before and the place is insanely expensive to stay at, so this will probably be the only time for our daughter. My only concern is the weather, that was an issue on our last trip.

This sounds simple, but, I've read that they sell out on busy days and I didn't want to take that chance! Also, last I read, the total for my family (2 adults, 2 kids) would be $410 for a walk up day pass. The room I booked at Comfort Suites (incl taxes) is $340.

I'm totally thinking this is the way to go. Have you already been or going before October? I'd love to hear your experience when you do! I am wondering if it adds much work having to go to thru check in before going to Atlantis. And any other insight of course!! Thanks :)

The end of August- I will try to post when back

I'm starting to think that I am going to do this too. With my government rate, it is $175 per night for 2 adults and 2 kids. There is $50 something in taxes. Do you know if they charge additional fees when you arrive? If not, this seems to be a good deal. I would get daypasses but they don't seem to be available for when I am going.

From what I've read, the fees it shows when you click to book the room are it. I believe you can just check in/get passes/check out and that they are used to people doing that. I read all about it on mouse savers.

We booked our room using government rate. I think the final total includes everything including the resort fee. We are saving $280 going this way and there is no way it would cost us that much for a taxi

Are you 100% sure? Some have mentioned a 2 night minimum for instance.

Back in 2013, I booked at the atlantis beach tower for 99$, worked great. If you can get a single night at an atlantis hotel, I’d do it (and then pm me so I can book it too!). We used our room to shower and change before heading back to the ship.
