I am planning a Feb. trip at AKL. I want to stay 2 nights savanna and 3 nights conceirge. But it all depends on codes. Should I book now, knowing when codes are released I may have to change my plans. If I do wait is there a big chance that AKL will be all booked for early Feb.

If it were me I would book now, hope for a good code rate and change it then. If you wait you may not get the dates that you want. I am not a good spur of the moment type person.

I suggest booking now. I like to have it set in stone, so to speak, and not have to worry about getting the dates I really wanted. If lower rates come out, even better! :)

If you are willing to stay at the non-discounted rate, then by all means go ahead and book now. Then if discount rates come out for your dates, you can always call to try to get the lower rate.

If you don't plan on going to WDW unless you can get a discounted room, then you might as well wait until the codes or other discounts come out for your time period. There is no guarantee that you can "convert" a rack-rate room reservation to a discount rate. Also, the white-shirts at Disney likely take a look at how many rooms are booked at the full rate before determining how many rooms to allocate to the discount codes. This could make it self-defeating to book the room now.

For what its worth, I've never paid full price for a WDW stay and I've always waited for the codes or AP rates to come out before booking. This includes my reservation for the upcoming very busy "NJ week-SuperSoaps-Veteran Day" weekend!

Good luck getting the reservation that you want!

Thanks for advice. I have always booked with a code and I guess I will wait until I can book with a code. I just hate not being able to start making my PS's and book my air.

Renee:

I'm betting you'll get your discounted rooms for early February. Start planning ahead based on that assumption. Go ahead and make your PS arrangements and keep checking Orbitz and Travelocity for airfares. You'll probably still be able to get good airfares in December for your February trip and the discount codes will certainly be out by then.

If you're like me, there is an equal amount of fun as there is frustration to this quest for the best-priced WDW vacation! Let us know how it's going for you!

I could book round-trip air for all four of us right now for 766.00 total with all taxes. We flew last year for even less so I may hold out awhile. I think I will go ahead and make my PSs. They are easy to change if I need to. We are going to do CP and not Cindy's so I don't have that to we concerend about.
