On the day I’m scheduled to check in to a Disney Resort (DVC), can I buy a lightning lane pass (or make Genie+ selections) from my home at 7am in another state before we drive down?

Thank you. Does the Virtual Queue also work from home? Or only the early one? I'm trying to figure out if arriving at 6pm what is the best way to plan for Remys on a busy day.

You can attempt to join the 7am (eastern) Remy VQ from anywhere, you just need to have valid park admission and an Epcot park reservation.

Thx. If I won't be in the park until probably 6:30pm, can I assume the early VQ option won't work for us? I read that you have to arrive by 1 hr after VQ time or the VQ is canceled. Can I choose a later VQ time?

No, sorry, you cannot choose a later VQ time. However reports suggest that most people who are returning after their group was called have been let in, particularly if they have a reason such as an ADR or, in your case, being in transit to Orlando when your group is called! So you might try it. The only way to choose a time is to pay for an ILL$.

Thank you. Question: should I wait to enter the 1pm virtual queue from the road then (or can you only book that one from inside the park)? Do all of the 7am VQ spots complete by 1pm?

Do we know what time the LL sell out for Ratatouille? I'm trying to decide if we should play the forgiveness game for arriving late or will I risk the LL purchases being sold out if we don't get there until 6pm.

To try for a VQ at 1 pm, you have to have already entered Epcot, so not possible to do from the road. OTOH, no, the 7 AM VQ spots do not finish by 1 PM - many aren't called until afternoon or evening. My guess (only a guess, not even an educated guess!) is that Disney assesses how well Remy is running in the morning (it does break down at times) and how many VQ groups have been called before they decide how many additional VQ spots to release at 1 PM.

Thank you! So, if it were you, and you got a VQ time for, say, noon, would you bank on getting in with that at 6pm, or would you not risk that and instead spend $60 on the LL?

Is it your only epcot day and is remy a must do for you? If so just pay and skip the stress.

If you really want to do the ride it might be worth it to you to buy the ILL.

In addition to having a set return time, your wait to get on the ride will likely be much shorter.

If it were me I would buy the ILL, but I tend to put more priority on certainty and avoiding lines than many others do.

Being the veteran of four attempts to get BGs for RotR, in January I plan to take it easy and pay for the ILL$ (there are only 2 of us), mostly because I can choose the time instead of wondering when our VQ group will be called. Actually, I’m hoping that Remy is still part of the Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Guests, which we’ll be eligible for, so we can just stand in line for free. In any case, I’m not planning to try for a VQ slot. For you, if time is a significant factor and you really want to ride Remy that day, I’d suggest the certainty of paying for ILL$,
