Book DVC or wait for a package?

Book a DVC rental now or wait to see if a package comes out for April 2010?
I saw on mousesavers that there have been vacation packages released in the past for travel dates in April, does anyone recall what exactly those packages were? Thanks!

I can't answer your question about packages, but we have loved our experience with renting the DVC points. We love the room we get with the villas. A package for us has not been as good a deal because we usually don't wont/need all the stuff that is offered.

DVC rentals can be a very economical option. Just keep in mind that most owners who rent consider it to be a final transaction, with the understanding that you won't be getting a refund if you want to cancel your reservation, and that changes to your dates may not be possible.

Timeshares are very different beasts than hotels. They run at high occupancy year round, book up very early, and cancellations can be complicated. So, if you cancel, the owner can quite easily be stuck with points they can't use and can't re-rent.
