Hey dis people! I know i havnt been on in a while, mostly lurking, and busy with school work and the like. anyway for any new members i am allison, feel free to PM me or whatever :)

So anyway i have a question for you all. I am writing a book for my creative writing class. we have been working on them since the beginging of the year but i can never be satisfied with the names. anyway i need a name for the main female and male characters, i am just horrible at coming up with names. Both lead characters are celebrities. The female celebrity gets a role in a movie that happens to be filming in her Georgia hometown and her co star is a jerk bust she finds the real him over the course of filming blah blah blah.

So for the girl i need like down to earth more sothern names (but not like jane, or mary jo) picture miley cyrus if you need a image...she is the closest celeb off the top of my head i can relate the girl i created to image wise.

For the boy i was thinking the name Andrew (nickname Drew). he was born and raised in California. he has blue eyes and brown hair. he plays lacrosse and surfs. but any names for him would be helpful options.

wow that was a lot, but thanks in advance :thumbsup2:)

Girl Names: Penelope (Penny), Amber, Ashley are all Southern sounding names to me.

If the dude is from California, I'd give him a more uncommon name, but that's just me, hehe.

Boy Names: Xander, Ezekiel, Kale. Even though it's common I always picture Joey or Joe to be a Cali guy name.

I've always loved the names Samantha and Kiara myself, for girls.

And for a boy, I adore the name Ryan. Also, Jacob. I'm more traditional for boy's names, more dramatic for girls.

Maybe Bridgette/Bridgett/Bridget for a girl?

*gasp* that is so cool!

i've always loved the name Nelson for a guy :faint: oh i love it!

ooooo and Charlie, for either - i think it's cute on a guy or girl

oh and October for a girl, i think that's cool :)

Typical guy names from Cali are: Luke, Kale, Stephen, Cole, Zachary, Tyler.
And I live in CA so, I would know. ;)

Southern female names? How about: Alice, Charlotte, Anna, Olivia, Addison.

if the girl is athletic, then jolene ("joe") would be a very good choice.

Really, Kale is? I'm a Floridian and I've never met any guy named Kale. A few Stephens and Tylers. Mostly around here we seem to have a ton of Alexanders and James.

Yup, I know two of them believe it or not.

The most common southern names (to me) around here are: Olivia, Graham, Susie, Amy, Savannah, and Emi

For guys I'd say: Jake, Chris, Zack, and Nick

I'm just gonna spout some off here- Ruth, Cathy, Esther, Lola, and for guys, Chistopher, Ben, Daniel, Timothy(tim), Matthew(matt).

kara, leena, alana, addison(addy) emily, charlotte (char?) charlene (charlie, char) amila, annalise (annie) sarah, sarah beth, vivian(viv) molly justine Mercedes adele aubree braxton dayton fren garnet macie marsha
not rly a southern name but i've always loved the name aster for a girl

for the boy chase, cal, camerion, brick, nicholas, artemis, barret, destin/dustin, emroy, kolby, kerry, quinn, Xanthus,

just look up least popular boy/girl names. thats where i got a lot of these. you'll find a good character name along with one that doesn't show up that often.

good luck with your writing!!! i'm 90% precent done with a story i've been writing since september and i'm about 150 Word pages in... so don't give up!!!! what ever happens just right your heart out! if you ever get writers block feel free to PM me... writers block is the worst!!!!
